well I AM CONSIDERING buying a 2010ss as well as other cars.I just haven't made up my mind yet.I'm sure there were things you couldn't make up your mind about when you were either ordering your car or choicing between one or several different alternatives right?

You may want to consider scratching the E55 off your list. I had that car in my radar for a long time and it is a beastly car. BUT....in my research I've ran across some really nasty horror stories about their ABC suspension. This actually applies to most of the lineup in the early to mid 2000's. Active Body Control (ABC) works beautifully in helping the car stay flat on turns and soaks up potholes UNTIL it blows out and mercedes wants to charge upwards of $4000+ to get it fixed and it wasn't just a few stories either...it's pretty common knowledge in the Benz world. I think 2008 is when they released a revised ABC II and I've heard it's less problem prone.

I estimate I'll have anywhere from $5,000-7,000 acumulated during the time i'm there.I plan on putting only 5,000 of that down.I also found out cuz my credit aint calling for me to reach up for that BMW M6.I can only afford a $35,000 set of wheels.

well I pretty much narrowed it down to
A Black 2007 Shelby with Grey stripes with 5,000 on the clock for $37,427
If i can find a black z06 for cheaper than $49,048 would be great
and the Benz E55 and STS-V
as i said with the previous post the car is going to be a DD,modifed at a later date.
I'm keeping AWD performance vechiles in mind as well such as Jeep Cherokee SRT8,EVO X GSR/MR,Subaru WRX,WRX STi in mind as well due to the fact where I might get stationed at if the winters are bad I will need the added traction of awd.but i prefer RWD.

the only rwd car i've owned was my 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis GS with the 4.6 SOHC V-8.I absolutely loved the car,the power but hated the gas milage due to the fact i was traveling 90 miles a day round trip to and from school with a lead foot on the highway
I really do appreciate you guy's input any suggestions are welcomed
With what you just wrote here about the 35000 price tag, your best bet is a brand new 2SS. Sorry it just is, it has everything you are looking for, style, performance, good gas mileage, DD ability and comfort and a hot aftermarket for mods. Plus the bonus of you being the only owner. Don't try and stretch your money to the point that you will be stressed. Your best bet once again is a 2SS plain and simple.

For 35K or less, you just can't go wrong right now with a 2SS.

Funny you should mention another branch because I originally intended on joinging the NAVY and due to the fact that I originally told them I had a GED and no college(At the time I didn't realize that going to a technical school counted as such to the military,so I left that out.)I took the ASVAB for the navy in July of this year mind you I had went down in weight from 352lbs when I started in August of 2008 to in July of 2009 at a scant 200lbs.I also obtained an ASVAB Study guide in January of 2009 and studied for 6 months.
At the time the minimum score for all branches including the air force
was 50/99.I took the test and scored a 68/99.soon afterwards I started bugging my recuiter to let me join.He and his superiors couldn't do anything to help me due to the fact that they had met their quota of GED people for the fiscal year.their fiscal year starts in october,so I being impatient contacted an ARMY recuiter and he tells me that with a GED i gotta have 15 credits of 500 clock hours worth of college.I had told him I went to a technical school in NJ where I'm from for a full year(12 months) and graduated.he had to look into what "teir" my school was catagorized and he'd get back to me.I thought it was just for the ARMY with the college credit thing so i asked my navy recuiter about it and he said the same thing and my navy recuiter told me I had to get the transcripts from NJ and him to look up if my school qualifies me to get into Navy.My navy recuiter never does look up the info.meanwhile I tell the army recuiter I would have to think about the descion to either stay with the navy and wait till god knows when or sit down and talk to the army about joining..about 2 months later I come up to my navy recuiter and ask him if any ged slots became available and he tells me due to the economy and such the navy raised its minmum score to 70!!(70/99) so now i'm faced with a messed up descion either retake the test and risk getting a worse score and have that remain as my ultimate score or possibly best my score and make it to 70/99 or above or join the army.

After I sat down with the Army recuiter he looked up at the schools i had went to.the place where i got my ged and tech school and both of them where teir one schools which qualified me as a high school graduate and not to mention i had 60 college credits with the tech school.
All my navy recuiter could have done was look up the info, offered me a job(one that i feel i could at least)and things would have been done.
it's kinda messed up that i put forth so much effort into doing what they told me i had to do cuz they saw me over the course of 11 months me loose 45% of my body weight and take and pass the test.I think they missed out on having a good asset on their team

Just an FYI, I'm on my second vette. I've had 2007 LS2 C6 and now a 2006 Z06. 0 times to the dealer for warranty work, only fluid changes ie: engine oil and diff fluid.

If your worried about cost of ownership and reliability, the vette is the most reliabile car I've owned and has cost me nothing out of pocket in repairs. How many 11 sec cars out there cost less then $100 a year (just due to fluid changes) to maintain? Once it's time to change out tires though, there's a significant cost

Depending on how far you want to mod a car is up to you, I'd think you might find the stock LS7 enough on the street. I have an intake+Borla exhaust on the Z06 and don't want to go changing the driveability of the car as it's a near DD.

Another thing to keep in mind, Z06s starting in 2007 have 5/100,000 warranty on drivetrain. (GM certified pre-owned 2006's may have the exteneded warranty as well) Nice thing to have just in case, but once you tune the car....warranty is blown, which is why I'm holding off on that till 2011 when my powertrain coverage is up.

In any case, that's a great list of cars to choose from. Good luck with whichever you decide on!

19 Kilo(M1 Abrams Crew Man) yeah I'm armored and btw if I were to order a 2010 camaro approximately how long would it take for me to get it from the dealer i would buy it from or would i be better off buying a new camaro from a dealer stock.
I know if a customer wants a car that a particular dealer doesn't have the sales manager can call others and swap cars,I should know because for a breif amount of time i was a car salesman and had to go on a few dealer swaps.

I also researched something that has me in a bit of a pickle(making the choice harder)
a base 2010 Mustang GT can be had with 550hp(Ford Racing blower pkg) for $36,264 not including labor at the dealer(the blower is a dealer installed accessory)that with 5k down is $31,264
a Premium GT with the same blower for $43,484(with 5k down it's $38,484)
btw all of this is with a 5 spd manual. The prices i configured the car on the ford website and found out how much the power pack is what they call it costs and just added it to the price.the price of the power pack is $7,029 but includes new injectors, blower, ecu remap, that's just off the top of my head.

Camaro SS $33,000 422 hp
Mustang GT 4.6Blown $38,264-$43,484 550hp

see what I mean?
