I think you can get a blackout for any color stripes. if not just go to a body shop and have them paint it. its a small spot and will not cost much.

yeah but then you will have the black outline (circle) of the SS emblem on the paint...if the letters were separate it would work out well...I'd have to see it first.

I have seen a couple of people who have used the repo 68 or 69 SS emblems for the rear bowtie replacement. Couldn't these be used in combo with this kit especially the injection molded front to keep it from looking cheap? Any thoughts?

This one is priced at $150 - $175 plus shipping. Wow, it's only $67 plus shipping when ordering new from SLP. Someone needs to put down the crack pipe and step away from the keyboard.

There are several sites where you can get them for this price with either the RS or SS:

Here is SLP's site (but, you have to call them to order):
http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=100032A
http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=100042A

At this site, you don't need to call and it even has free shipping:

So do I understand the rear bowtie is bolted and you remove it thru the trunk? Not sticky taped?

No, the rear bowtie is not bolted. It is sticky taped. I took mine off yesterday to apply a rear vinyl blackout kit. Use some dental floss and double it up for strenght to get behind the emblem. Use A hairdryer to heat the emblem up first. This makes the adhesive easier to break free. There are two guide pins that are not attached to anything. They are only used for proper alignment of the emblem. It was a pretty easy removal. Don't Forget to Get some 3M double sided sticky tape to put your emblem back on. Hope this helps.
