But compliments? Hardly ever. In northern virginia everyone hates everybody. What's a compliment?

It's a nostalgia thing, IMO. It reminds people of a different time, a 'better' time.

I coveted a brand new 1993 Trans Am when I first saw them in March 93. I nearly lost my shit. 275HP?!? I was 18 and had already owned 2 F bodies by that time, but there was nothing on the road like the 4th gen. It even made the Vette look stale at the time.

Finally bought a 1995 LT1 TA in 2007. Unfortunately I got sick in 2009 and had to sell it to pay for surgery. So in a way...a Pontiac 4th gen saved my life

I literally get at least 3-4 compliments a week, and I've had this car two months....people comment that they especially love the Aqua Blue Metallic color.

You do know now that you've said that, you're gonna get a few more paint chips and perhaps even a nice parking lot dent.

I get compliments on mine all the time. I even try to qualify it by saying it's only a V6 model, but people still insist it's still a really nice car.

6 or 8. You get compliments on how the car looks from the average person.
Most people out there have no idea or care what engine you have or what
mods you have. Keep any 5th gen clean and detailed and you will get the
compliments.

I used to take my 2010 Pace Car that was all decked out under the hood, cam, heads, nitrous and had nice forged wheels on it and park next to the first Synergy Edition V6 that was half the price and that green car got way more attention. Especially since he had green halos and all.

Some things catch the eye more than others no matter what the model.

this was my 1st 5th Gen... hardest one to get rid of too.

I was just at a mini mart and got a nice complement. The guy says "that's really nice, is it a Chevrolet"?(I've debadged the whole car) I say yep. "it must be new?" Nope 9 years old, "Wow you must really take care of it!" It was clean but not even heavily detailed.

“I must look like an asshole. I rarely get compliments on my ride. I see people checking it out from time to time but they rarely say anything. They take one look at me and that’s where it ends. Lol”

Absolutely. Listen,I love laughing at others far to much not to be able to laugh at myself. I firmly believe you can’t have one without the other. Well you can but that just makes you a douche. Lol
