Just the shifter -centering springs . They hold the shifter in the car after you disconect it from the trans. You should slice the inner boot enough to get a 1/4" drive socket in there to unbolt the springs. The Hurst instructions are extremely vague on this portion of the install.

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a couple of those counter-sunk mounting screws? I bought the shifter used, and the jacka** decided not to send me the screws with it....... I'll call Hurst if it's my only option--I just really wanted to install my shifter this weekend.

Tag thanks for the write up, I installed mine today it was a piece of cake. Worst part was the mounting screw on the passenger side.

Where does one get this shifter?
Can I use the factory knob...not a big fan of the cue ball. |

I got mine here http://www.amazon.com/Hurst-3916030-...camaro+shifter . You can use the stock shifter knob.

Thats a pretty good price compared to everywhere else. Did you use the factory leather boot and knob?
Is this the same product that sells for $300-400 on other sites? |

Correct. I used my original boot but, instead of using my shift knob, I ordered a 2012 Hurst OEM shift knob from Becky at Rodgers Chevrolet.

Anyone not using the hurst stock shaft? Great work used this write up to install my shifter. Hardest was getting the boot back on over the linkage.
