Just bought mine today. Shipping on a slow boat from China, but it'll get here soon enough.

Tip if you plan on using the key supplied with the fob Tape the removeable upper portion of the fob to the fixed backside. This way you simply lift up the upper portion to provide enough room to insert the PCB (printed circuit board) without having to go thru the hassle of unwinding & rewinding the upper portion key spring.
Just insert the PCB, remove the tape, press snap the upper portion back into place. EZ PZ

Also, if you don't have needle noise pliers you can insert two thin screw drivers into the slot hole to force open the factory fob. That pried open the top halves. The bottom halves stayed held together by the chrome trim, so I pulled and tugged up & down on the chrome trim with plyers until the trim released enough from the bottom halves to pry them apart with a thin screw driver just enough to get the PCB out.

That was ugly I got mine apart inserting two thin screw drivers into the slot hole and applied constant pressure. That pried open the top halves. The bottom halves stayed held together by the chrome trim, so I pulled up & down on the chrome trim with plyers until it released just enough off the bottom halves to then pry them apart with a thin screw driver just enough to get the PCB out.

The one video I watched the guy put a pair of needle nose into the hole behind the switch blade and just spread the pliers. I did that and it worked like a champ, blew the fob right in two.

Hey Mr2Hard2See, Pete D and anybody else out there that did this key swap I have a challenge for you ...how do you get the battery out to change it?

After initially putting it together using a 5+yr old battery I figured why not just put in a new battery. So I opened the battery compartment cover but couldn’t get the battery out! I futzed around trying to pry/slip/push it out of the two tabs that hold it in place, using a tooth pick and micro size screwdriver but I couldn’t get it out. I didn’t use much force as I didn’t want to break the two tabs. I then unscrewed the battery side half (keeping the top only semi open with tape as didn’t want to deal with unwinding & rewinding the key spring). Still couldn’t get the battery out Figured this is a good time to ask as the thread is fresh.

You the man Pete Thank you! I used a toothpick and small screwdriver in there but mine just wouldn’t pop out. Maybe I just didn’t apply enough force as I didn’t want to break a tab.
