I ordered one of these on the 1st of January as their website indicated they were in stock. After Janetty opened back up after the holiday I called to find out the status. They had 10 in stock before they left for Christams and they we all sold throughout their break. Their site does not have the ability to automatically update stock quantities when someone orders on the web. They are waiting for another shipment from CAI just like everyone else. I wasn't real pleased with the news as the availabilty factor was why I ordered it from them. I will say that Ted Jannety personally called me to explain the situation and apologize for the confusion. Hang in there... they will have them in a few weeks.

It's worth the wait... trust me. Just don't go getting discouraged and buy somthing else that's going to perform half as well for the same or more money. I just put my exhaust on last weekend between that in conjunction with the intake, throttle response is MUCH better and the power increase is ridiculous, now just waiting on the headers.... hang in there!!!

Sorry dudes, but I think I got the last box they had Just a hunch though.

When I called in to ask for the update, the guy asked for my name and found my order. He immediately emailed me the paid invoice and said that I would get a tracking number by the end of the day...now, i'm breaking the tires loose on my L99! Hang in there guys and remember that Jannetty is waiting on CAI, Inc. and CAI Inc. is waiting on the company that makes the filters.

It looks good. Maybe that will be something to do once it gets warm again.

Ordered mine from Jannetty Jan.1. Called on Jan 4-5 and was told they ran out. Would be 4 week wait. Complained about sight showing them "in stock". Sight was changed to show "out of stock". Checked last night, Sight shows "Availability: in stock" so I sent an E-mailrequesting status of my order. Here's the response: "Hello Eddie we have not recieved them yet Cai has told us they are on backorder for 2 more weeks sorry for the delay." WTF! So why did they change their sight back to "in stock"?

Sounds shady. As if they still are trying to pull in sales. I'll still be ordering from them though since they contribute so much to Camaro5

??? yeah weird. I'm still waiting too? hmmmm. let us know why it now says 'in stock'. Maybe they are just getting ready for the next batch that does come in and will have them all sold. Although, I would be a bit upset if I ordered when it was 'in stock' and had to wait 3 weeks (because it really wasn't)...OH WAIT THAT'S WHAT DID HAPPEN TO ME!

Me too. Here is my follow up after their response about still being back ordered.

Quote:
Appreciate the prompt response. In all fairness to people looking to buy this intake, you should reflect that on your sight. Your sight went from in stock to out of stock and now shows in stock.
Their response....

Quote:
I talked to the web guy he is going to take care of it thank you.
As of this morning they still show it in stock. However the Fastlane intake which showed out of stock now is in stock so, they did make changes just not to the CAI Inc. I agree.seems like their trying to pull in "pre orders" without people realizing that's what they're doing.
Understand, I am not bashing on them. I've spoken to Ted and he is a straight up guy and I'm sure he runs his business that way. They just need to correct these things so people don't get the wrong impression and choose not to do business with them later. Not to mention it SUCKS to order something thinking it's in stock and you'll have it in a week, only to find out it's backordered 4 WEEKS!

Just ordered my CAI from Cold Air Inductions...can't wait for it to be here. Has anyone painted this system, if so how difficult was it and what type of paint did you use?

Hey when you install this, is there anything needed (other than basic tools) that isn't included in the kit, or anything special I should do, like install or grease anything?

Hey meltyface, there really isn't anything that is needed besides the tools I listed. However, you may want to get your self a small hose clamp (I forget which size though) to secure the PVC hose that connects to the intake tube. I'll try to snap another pic to show you what I mean.

EDIT: sorry it took a while to get the pic, but here it is:

I wouldn't worry about Ted at all everything is back ordered. I ordered mine from SRT10KLLR, he had a few units available so after I sent him the PayPal I recieved a tracking number and it came straight from CAI Inc. It was shipped via ground so it took about 5 to 7 days. There was a small issue with the tube that they will take care of as soon as they get their next shipment in.
It's a first class product
