I'm a bit disappointed when comparing the Camaro to the Audi S4.
The new S4 is a supercharged V6 with about 100hp less than the Camaro.
Additionally the Audi is said to be a terrible understeerer.

All in all I don't want to trust the C&D's numbers...

Here http://www.fastestlaps.com/car_Chevr...o_SS_2010.html is another comparison. I'm eager to see more Norschleife times.

Ok, this puts to rest that the Camaro SS is not a handling car. Only 2 seconds behind the GT 500 being down 120 hp, and 5 seconds ahead of the GT with the track pack. Enough of this nonsense that the Mustang is so much better at handling. The FACT of the matter it is NOT!!! Thank you for reading my rant!

This doesn't put anything to rest, its a top end oriented car, and its just ONE track. FACT.

Though it is not a "bad" handling car, by any means. But as said earlier by dragoneye, its a jack of all trades car.

Basically, I'm trying to delicately say "I don't consider the Camaro a drag-oriented car anymore than I do the Z06"...

Fair enough. Though I think the camaro when being designed, had a more drag strip oriented approach.

No, that was Motor Trend.

No Doubt, just another reason I am happy I bought it!

I think I have this issue of car and driver. I may just put it in the glove box.

Sorry, but it absoulutley does. Mustang guys have been on here raving about the track pack Mustang. So with respect to that car, YES is does put that to rest. Yes it's only one track, but all I am saying is the Camaro SS is a much better handling car than some would like to admit in stock form.

It's called "Grasping at straws" it's the only thing mustang fanatics had left in the bag according to the numerous magazine article written about the Camaro vs. Mustang. The numbers speak for themselves and it puts to rest the debate about the handling capabilities of the Camaro SS against the VASTLY superior "track pack" that's all the rage in the mustang world...The Camaro makes up the stock under steer disadvantage by being a well engineered Jack of all trades as pointed out earlier.

Long live the KING of the modern Muscle Car... CAMARO!

Damn if the camaro did that to a gt with a trackpack and nismo370 stock, i cant wait to see what it does with one of those 1k suspension mods.

Also the gs vette beating the r8 is very impressive!

No, it still doesn't. It is ONE example, on a track that is geared for cars with speed rather than handling. That is like saying if one magazine runs an l99 camaro at 13.4, that the Track pack optioned mustang, is faster, which we all know is not true. The only thing this states is that on this track, the camaro is the better car, not better handling, but better car.

I don't know if you are talking about me with the handling of the camaro, but I have never said its "bad". It is not however better than the mustang, the live axel is much more refined than the first year IRS.

Live axel is better for Drag than IRS, so is the maro really a drag strip oriented car?
