No Sir, not at all

True, I guess stable isn't the best description. I don't mind it as long as I knoe it's there, because then I adjust my driving towards that. I'm used to driving an AWD RS4 at the track whick understeers like crazy!

You have done some awesome mods to yours and, with mods like these and others, the vehicle is capable of a lot and tons safer to drive at these speeds.
Small suspensions mods completely transform this car, as you said it is an amazing platform! Even the brakes are outstanding for a factory car. This is one of the reasons I bought this car, I knew it was a great car to build.

As mentioned before, I have a fully track prepped 600+whp Z06, and a 1965 Stingray also built for the road course my Camaro with the mods is the most pleasent to drive at high speeds and at the track, but not the fastest

Very true, I think that a full HPDE Track day with an instructor should be part of getting your Drivers license. This may sound unnecessary to people but they have a form of track day (skid pad and evasive driving techniques) in Sweden that one is required to pass to get a learners permit.

Again, much respect to you and all Camaro owners out there. Your passion is the reason I have a job! I'll close with my favorite racing quote...."Keep all 4 wheels on the ground and NEVER run out of ideas, traction or real estate at the same time."
I am going to end with my favorite racing quote:

Very true, it is amazing how much you learn about your car just by going to a road course and having a professional driver/instructor to spend some time with. You really learn what your car is capable of as well as yourself. It definitely makes your driving experience in this new Camaro alot more enjoyable.

155, kept it there on and off the limiter for some time. For a factory stock car, it was very stable at that speed as well. My GT500 requires much more attention at those speeds and did not inspire much confidence. With the Camaro, I just want to go FASTER!

Yeah, that's right, I guess I'm just jealous. It sucks when there is this rule that only certain people can buy a Camaro and the rest of us are forced to drive something else. If only I would have been able to purchase one at the time I bought the GT500.

Look, it was not my intention to turn this thread into some kind of Camaro vs. Mustang thread, but some folks can't resist the urge to do that everytime someone who does not drive a Camaro posts something in a thread. Even if the topic of the thread has nothing at all to do with a Mustang in any way.

You ran 186mph in your car. Awesome. Glad you didn't kill yourself or anyone else in your quest for internet superiority. Congratulations.

I agree, There is a huge difference between the way my 2007 felt at higher speeds versus what the 2010 feels like. The 2010 is as stable at 150mph as it is at 80. That was not the case with my 2007. As verfied by various sources, the aerodynamics of the newer GT500's is greatly improved over the earlier models.

I have been told there is a big difference between my 08 and the new 10 GT500's I'd love to drive yours to see firsthand, but I am not going to buy one to find out. However, its kinda hard for this not to turn into a Mustang versus Camaro thing when your replies are just not valid. The title of this post was How Fast have you gone? Not call B/S on someone for whatever reason you have. Now I call BS on you. Here are three quick questions that dont require a long winded response.

1-Whats the fastest you have you driven?
2-How fast have you gone in a new Camaro?
3-How fast have you gone in your new GT500?

Either post up pertinent information or please show some restraint.

This is from a new member as of this month. I am an old fellow (66) with a summit white with orange stripes 2ssrs and I think I have only been 90 mph , in third gear. I also have a 2007 Atomic orange Corvette which is geared 2:14 and I do not think I will ever know its top speed. I have owned several 68 and 69 Camaros and I think that Chevrolet has this one right. I am impressed at any speed other than the dod.

You have bigger b@lls than me, I've done 186, but I'd never go over
80 - 90 at night. A rabbit running out in front of you at 130 could have dire consequences.
You should never drive faster than what you'd be able to stop in the distance you can see with your low beams on.

As long as the rabbit goes under the car, and not through the radiator.
I had a jack rabbit in front of my chevy 1/2 ton pickup, 20 yrs ago, that jumped up just as I hit it. Went right through the AC condenser and tore everything up. The Camaro radiator is 18" lower.
