Came home today to find out power is out and won't be back until basically tomorrow, so figured now's the time to make few small things I've been putting off. First I used some double sided tape to reinforce the side skirts a bit towards the front where they sagged a bit and added little stickers on each side, the reason why I went with "no step" is because while looking at the Ferrari FXX K, which imo is one of the best looking modern supercars I've noticed they wrote "no step" on the huge side skirts that the car had in white lettering just like this and I just thought it was the funniest thing.
Then I took the spoiler off and added some butyl tape to finally seal up the screw holes so that water stops making its way into the trunk, there was s bit of rust on the bolts so had to clean that off and along the way dropped the spoiler and scratched one of my fancy bolts, thankfully scratch is on the underside so no one will see it.

Worked on fitting the fuel rail covers, it is a lot more of a pain then I thought, installed the new dipstick and fitted the driver side one, the passenger one is being a pain because of the heater hose (can sense the relocation in the future even tho I'm trying to avoid it), as wella s some other lines (mostly fuel and the big wire harness), goal for now is to just make it work, I want these done by the carshow weekend after next. Gonna leave passenger side one for now mainly because I broke the plastic on the fuel rail hook so gonna give super glue time to do its magic and try again later.

I was going to finish the cover project and just as spur of moment decided I was going to do the heater hose relocate so that I don't have to deal with that hose in the way
Only big screw up was that I decided to cut the hoses on the heater side since I read those were fragile and no way I'm pulling the dash again to fix something like that, but I used a mostly full saws all blade wrapped in paper towels so I could grab it and sawed slightly too much so there is a notch in the metal bit For the coolant drain I used this long funnel jammed right under the hoses with a cut off bit of water bottle to direct some for the stray streams, then it drained under the suspension bits of the front passenger wheel into a cardboard box I found that I lined with tinfoil, I then drained this box into a jug I found and reused the coolant, all because I was too lazy to lift the car and remove the belly pan.

Wow, close call with that heater core nipple! Tinfoil box drain pan? And I thought I was good at MacGyver techniques.

This has been a pain in my nuts for forever not and I finally did it, the ls7 covers are officially installed, I made a ton of mistakes along the way and had to cut a lot material, a little too much again due to those mistakes, I'll have to find a way to replace that 427 with 376 but I can get that figured out later. In terms of the screw ups in case someone else needs to learn from my mistakes, make sure you insert the studs first and then clearance everything after that, do not start with no studs like I did then add them in because you will end up over cutting on the plentum end. To make everything fit you also MUST get an oil cap that replaced the fill neck, get a shorter dipstick, relocate the heater hose, and relocate the PVC hard-line that moves along driver side fuel rail (some of these might be l99 or early 5th gen things).
Also decided to add little X-es on the headlights, used transparent grey 1\2 inch tape offset from the main beam a little so it doesn't impact the headlights enough to raise eyebrows of people on the road, might take a drive when sun falls down just to confirm but I doubt there will be any visibility issue.

I do like the look of the beauty covers. maybe you could buy a hard 376 badge somewhere and just cover it right on top of the 427.

I was just thinking about that too, I am still considering 3d printing a plate to go over the number so I can avoid more cutting or accidentally over sanding the texture on the plastic but I don't think the plastic I have would stand up to engine bay heat so an emblem might be the way to go. For time being I have a car show I'm attending next weekend so going to put some blue painters tape with 376 written on it with sharpie, should get a laugh out of someone.

Great job on getting those covers to fit, and everything you had to do to make it work!
As for the numbers, another option could be to just drop an LS7 in there and call it a day.

Had some time to kill yesterday so threw some of the stickers I had laying around on the strut bar, pretty sure I had a heat shield products one somewhere as well but couldn't find it. Also when installing the rail covers I broke one of the legs on the clip bit that attaches to the fuel rail, at time I used glue and duct tape to get it back together but the heat already destroyed it, have some ideas on a little locking mechanism using some hardware store type stuff, will probably make it a priority since I dont like idea of one of the covers wobbling off while driving and touchings something it shouldn't.

These just came in yesterday, part of my car is paid off gift bundle I put together for myself (actually I'm still waiting on transfer of $1.04 between banks to finish the loan because of coarse the number they listed as pay off amount is not how much it actually costs), bought one caliper from rock auto and other from Amazon, each site had one site for less then other, was a bit under $400 per caliper, have set of ZL1 rotors coming in next week, found them for $665 a pair, everything else like lines, pads, brake fluid, paint to match the rears, and so on is going to be bought over next month or two here and there. It's very pricy but I think it will be worth it in the end.

Nice, I need to color match the rears (just make em red), wanted to powedercoat them too but realistically I only have one set and maybe a weekend to do it so going to try some decent quality caliper spray paint and hope it dries well within a weekend. Could powdercoat myself but not sure how happy everyone will be when they find a set of calipers baking in the kitchen oven.
