Yeah dude, either that or hike on over to CVS and invest in some lube, because your son is getting F'ed in the A. $333.00 a month for an Aveo? Wow - where do you live, Miami? LA? Location is a substantial factor in insurance premiums too.

Man, who do you guys have insurance with????? I have had two tickets when I was younger; both which are off my record now and I just got quoted $95 a month for full coverage on a 2006 Chevy Corvette. I am 22 and I am covered by Nationwide.
And on the opposite end of the scale... wow. xD What the hell? By any chance, did you pay that Corvette in full and the title is clean in your name? Because in the case, you can put just PIP on it which is the only way to justify a paltry $95.00 insurance premium for a 22 year old.

Nooooooo, a couple of months ago I was thinking of getting a 2006 C6(clean title from dealer) and I went to Nationwide(always have had them) and just asked them what full coverage would be if I purchased the C6. To my surprise they said only $95 a month. I am now definatley getting a 2010 Camaro SS RS with a manual transmission.

I will be getting a SS/RS with manual trans in Victory Red as soon as I can order one with a HUD. Sounds like Dec 09 before it will be availible so hopefully shortly after that. I assume that I will take all options as I really don't care too much about the price. The Camaro is replacing my Corvette dream while my kid is in college so comparitively the Camaro will be a bargin.

A Corvette is classified as a luxury car and not a sports car by insurance standards, that explains some of it.

I'm only 17, and if I haven't had so much experience with high horsepower cars/trucks, I would never even consider a 422hp SS. I still don't know if I can handle it, but I will have more experience and will be 20 by the time I buy it. All you guys my age who want it (and aren't having to pay for it no less) really need to think about this. 422 sounds like a big number on paper, but it is HUGE in your hands. Besides, the 300hp V6 is no slouch, and that's still great power. I really hope you test drive the car first and get to experience that much power. You don't need it.

Quoted for truth, I'll be 18 when I buy my Camaro in late Feb/early march, I'll admit, I've thought about busting my butt, working every spare minute I have to buy the SS, but really, that is just too much power for someone my age. Hell, I have my doubts about 300hp, thats almost a 100 hp jump from my current car, but.... well... you know Camaro > Mustang lol

Where I live if you finance a car for a certain number of years you must carry full coverage(which consists of liability+collision+comprehensive) on that vehicle until the title is in your possession which is usually when the vehicle is paid off.

That is pretty much everywhere... Usually more expensive though...
especially at 22

422 flywheel hp(I think it is underated) is alot, I think the Camaro will probably have between 380-400 rear wheel hp which will be awesome and extremely powerful. I do believe I can handle the power though, my WS6 has 360rwhp and 370 rwtq. I think my WS6 and the 2010 SS LS will be a close race since my car is a couple hundred pounds lighter.

My poor kids.

They're gonna look at kids like the ones posting in this thread and be pissed because there's no way in hell they're getting a $25k car for nothing. If they want it, they can earn it. Meanwhile they can drive my 1996 Jetta 5-speed 4-cylinder to college.

Oh, haha. I'm not getting it for nothing, I have to get straight A's for the whole year, and I will be able to do that. I'm just gonna have to put in a LOT of effort. I am in like 2 Honors Classes.
