I bet we are pushing that too... just it takes more cars! hahaha

LS3 - 426
Ram Diesel - 325
IROC - 235
S10 - 150 (est)
Civic - 140 (est)

1300 or so... not bad! Too bad it took 5 cars!

Back-door jealousy; a taunt.

Secure individuals would not have asked that question or what your vehicle "cost" you.

I bet I have been asked; "why didn't you just buy a Corvette" about 25 times. Don't get me wrong, I love the Corvette and I would like to have one but it was my choice to buy the Camaro. It's like the Corvette is supposed to be the pinnacle of car ownership or something. Why do people assume that even though you bought a Camaro, your real desire was to own a Corvette? You just settled for the lesser car?

Why didn't I just buy a Lamborghini? Why didn't you just buy a 10,000 square foot house? Why, why, why.....what is the comment "why didn't you just buy a Corvette" supposed to mean??

I can't believe I am the only one that has been asked this question. If others have been asked what has your response been? Give me some suggestions on how to respond to this question since I have no doubt I will be asked numerous times in the future like I have been asked in the past.

Russ
Your response should be...." I have no idea. I have have been asking myself that very question. Say why didn't you get one? (wait for stupid response). Hey that's not a bad reason, can I just use that? " wait for it to sink in.

-OR-

What do you mean? This is a corvette. When he argues - act all surprised and pissed at the dealer for being liars and cheats. Tell him you are going to fix 'em good.

I love the Vette, but for the price I paid for my Camaro, I couldn't have gotten into a Vette.

God forbid someone just says hey man nice ride. Instead the V6 people get "hey man why didnt u get the V8". The V8 guys get "hey man why didnt you just buy the vette". Then u check out the the people's ride who say that and see a mini van or some pos honda with some fart cans. Just laugh at them and move on.

Sold my 07 Vette for 2SS RS

I sold my vettte for new camaro. The reasons are many and nothing against the vette whatsoever. It was a a great move for me personally.

Toyaholic- Great decision!

Some pretty funny responses. I wonder why I have been asked this question so many times when it sounds like most of you have never been asked.

Why?

Because Corvette is the Chevy pinnacle of design and performance. A 2 seater is a sports car; a coupe is a compromise - a "sports car wannabe" for those with a family (i.e. not eligible for ownership of a REAL sports car). Corvette is faster, sportier looking, ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE better handling. There's no performance-based reason to select ANY Chevy product over Corvette. In fact, the only domestic within reach is Ford GT, which is stupidly overpriced for what it offers, but is cool and exclusive.

The real answer is obvious: because you had to have a back seat.

If you're embarrassed by that, then sorry. Had you cared about PERFORMANCE and not needed a back seat, you'd have chosen MANY cars before Camaro, and Corvette would have to be high on that list.

Why pretend to be confused/offended? Just accept what it is; a compromise to get a livable, if small back seat.

A few important reasons:

- Camaro's are NEW! 2010 marks the first of these cars built in years.

- Corvettes are easily twice the price.

- The current Corvette is about to die and is being replaced by a brand new model which I think was car seen in The Island from a few years ago (amazing and sexy)

I've always wanted a Corvette but couldn't justify the cost to myself. (I'm a really careful buyer). If I was going to spend $80k or more on a car I would buy Lexus SUV or something like that.

Don't need or want a back seat, although the rear seat looks great in black/orange. Camaro's are and have always been "muscle cars", Corvettes are and always been "sports cars". Different breeds sharing parts. Just because you buy a Camaro, doesn't mean you want a Vette.

I guess you need to own 1 to appreciate it.

You gotta Beamer, why didn't you buy the Porsche 911s? Kinda the same thing. Hey they are both German imports, you must want it.:flag2:

I've never been asked that question. Vettes are great looking sports cars,
but to me they don't convey that muscle car image. I like driving a muscle car.
