Much-thanks.

I hope not to engage the feature often (for durability's sake) -- but it's nice to know that "it's there."

Did I just contradict a previous post? I'm not so sure.

BUT...if the stars align and you get no slip....the launch control on the M3 is impressive.
Maybe I missed it in an earlier post, but it seems logical that the ABS system could determine if the tires are spinning and that's what will control the amount of throttle to limit tire spin. No need to to determine tire/road temps tire compound, right?

True, that's roughly the function of ABS, but the idea is to have no positive wheel slip (spinning) at all. You launch much faster with zero wheel slip than when the wheels spin, the computer to calculates the amount of slip, and then controls engine torque.

No...look at the videos I posted of the M3...you see wheel spin in one of them.

The system is pretty simple...it holds revs at a certain level 'automatically' so all you have to do is pop the clutch.

If ABS or the ECM got involved...you launch would probably wind up being slower. When traction control pulls away power...your hole shot it gone.

Second, Sorry Scott, they had only booklets there with all the camaro, and a few other cars, it was the same stuff we have already seen, i wanted to take one home for you just because it was a sort of document but it was there for the salespeople and had to remain there, so sorry.
The car was a 2SS/RS IOM with IOM trim, had 1ss doors but the full Boston accoustics sound system. Just for those who are worried, the dash is confirmed to be acrylic for those who ordered 2LT, or 2SS, i know alot of people wanted that to be confirmed.
The HIDS are amazing, and he explained it iin detail as to why its better then going aftermarket. They gave me the keys to it, so i got to keep it in run and play with all the electricals and DAMMMM!!!!!
When i got in there, there was a girl in the drivers seat, and she said can i start it up? Derrek was like well that depends on one condition, Only if you blip the throttle.
So there i am gazing at the car and it starts up, L99 by the way, and she revved it! WOW, just WOW. Just like the car, you have to hear, see and feel in person for everything in order to truly appreciate the car. Sunroof looks good, i really wanted it but cant afford it, shucks i know.
RS Package- If you havnt ordered it, i seriously think you should reconsider, even for the HIDS alone, it is completely worth it, just gorgous, and the darker taillamps really make a difference, im going darker anyway but still beautfiul to have on delivery.
Launch Control, so Derrek, since i was the last to leave, i asked him about it. He gave me a really good description of it working and how it really makes a huge difference on the SS. He showed me how to turn it on. This car was auto so you had to put the car in drive, you press the stability control button twice, this enables you to choose Competitive mode, when this is on, you could do some serious drifting, donuts and when you slow down to stop at a light, Launch Control will display across the DIC, you hold the brake, or for stick, you hold the clutch, have the gas pedal to the floor and it will limit you to 4500 rpm, and basically your blasting off the second you let go of that clutch.
Performance numbers. V6 is quicker then 6.1, he said you can actually get mid 5 seconds for it, he thinks the reason why they did have 6.1 advertised is because maybe its in v8 terrirtory. The SSs will fly, CHallengers will be beaten no matter what. No worries there, especially with launch control. ABL will have the second dimmer switch. The dimmer switch is not an actual roll, its more like a half role that only moves a little in eityher up or down, but it controls it electronicaslly, its like an actual dimmer switch you would have at home, where your holding the button and watching the lights dim, as aposed to having to scroll it down, i dont know how to explain it but i hope you have an idea of it. All the materials felt very ncie to me, but i guess thats a matter of opinon for poeple.
Got a couple of pics, i saw the battery, there is a styrofoam housing for the air compressor that comes out for you to reach the battery. Very cool how they thought out the car.
When you unlock the car, all the lights come on, so HIDS and Halos, tails, i think reverse lights do as well, when you pop the trunk, the lights flash and stay on. Very cool and neat. What else, the DIC is soo nice, very easy to browse through.
DThe deck, takes some time getting used to but is AMAZIING
Derrek had his Blackberry paired with the car with his music playing. The music was like listening to a cd with amazing quality. He showed us how far it work, and man, it works FAR!. So for me, if my car was on the road outside, i can control the music in the car, from my front door of the house on my iphone. Once you pair it, it will always pair until you unpair it after or something like that. SO if you pair it on Monday, come Tuesday when your walking to your car, it will already be paired.
The bluetooth is an amazing feature, worth paying for, believe me, WORTH paying for.
ANything else?
Oh yeah Scott, i got my saleman to put in CGM stripes in for FREE!!!!!!
