Front plate Law bites in Oregon got pulled over on the second day of owning my camaro for no front plate luckily I got a warning its $500 fine if both plates are not fuly visable just told the cop "Yea I know heading to the dealer right now to install it." The Law says if your issued 2 plates both must be securly fastened to the vehicle with always visable bracket (IE no zip tie trick or hideaway plate bracket.) Most likely didnt help that I have the Synergy Green sticks out like a sore thumb.

Someone on the forums posted a way to put your front plate on without using any holes in the bumper, but I think it was just for a temp holder for like an inspection.
Oh wow, they have a law in your state that requires front plates on phones too?! Haha... no I know what you were saying. Unfortunately you already got a ticket so why chance it anymore? Especially if you put holes in your car? I don't want to put holes in mine so I'll be getting a setup that wont require that.

The hide-away would work fine if it's there and visible when driving. Zip ties would too if you're tying a bracket to the car and not the plate itself. You'll want to dig into that law and really makes heads or tails about it. In Colorado it needs to be firmly attached (on a bracket of some kind) and visible at all times. As long as it can't come off they wont (or shouldn't) care.

I don't have holes in the Camaro. I would rather pay a ticket then have a license plate. Being pulled over for it once every 5 years and only being given a fix it ticket once every 10 years isn't a big deal.

The first time I was only pulled over in a speed trap that I'm sure the cop just had no one to pull over for awhile. The 2nd time the copy pulled me over in the middle of no where in Eastern Washington. Didn't give me anything.

You said you put nails in holes... guess we could have had you clarify that. But as far as once every 5 or 10 years... you're in the computer now. Any halfway competent Officer or department probably keeps records of who was stopped and why. Some even display that information when your plate is run or when you are run through the computer. So the next time it probably wont be a "fix it ticket". It may, who knows... some departments are silly. But why chance it? Why not just obey the law and come up with a way to rig it where it's accepted and not damaging to the car?

Out of curiosity. Is this the same as a Seatbelt violation? Where as they have to pull you over for something else in order to ticket you for no LP?

They can just pull you over for a seatbelt violation now. That's a national law/campaign that went to effect a few years ago.

Cops can also just pull you over for a license plate.

I got my manual flip front license plate holder from swiftmotorsports.com Very easy to install and you can hide it when need be, ie car shows, and have it up when you are driving. So dar, best $60 I've put into the car!

I live in Denver, Colorado (Colorado requires front license plates) and yesterday morning I was driving back from Boulder on Rt 36 and a cop pulled me over specifically because I did not have a front plate on the car. I never thought that not having a front plate was a moving violation. He did only give me a written warning but now I feel as if I should get a plate. I refuse to drill holes into my front bumper though! I am thinking about one of those devices which retracts under the bumper (no drilling required). Anybody have experience with these? Are the expensive? Tough to install? Any feedback would be great.

Texas requires a front plate. I have been driving around for six years without one on several cars. I have never been stopped by the police.

Very simple and inexpensive

I used 2 3" toggle bolts through the mounting bracket
been on almost a year now no problems, no holes in front end.
