Good question on the difference. I have the long tube and do not no much about the short one.

As for the install I did the long tube myself so I do not know how much it would cost. Easy enough to do on your own.

All i can say is WOW!!!! The immediate sound of the intake noise paired with my Flowmaster AMT sounds absoloutely AMAAZZINGG!!! Its an extremely easy job to do took about 45 min to install going turtle speed in the freezing cold without taking off tires or inner plastic fender cover.

IF YOUR LOOKING FOR AN INTAKE BUY THIS ONE!!!

I just ordered mine through Autoanything and got free shipping with an additional 15% off but I think that only lasts till december 31st. Does anyone have it installed with the chevy performance exhaust? I was kind of curious what it sounds like.

I also bought by InJen long tube the org. system from AutoAnyThing and the hydro sock came as a free gift. My car now sounds amazing with the InJen and the MRT Ver. 2 exhaust!

Just installed mine tonight after work. Super easy, only thing that sucked was I couldn't take it for a test drive because it started snowing and I was about to get out in that mess

A dumb question I'm sure, but is this CAI an oiled or dry filter?

I ask because I have never applied oil - been installed for around 12k miles with no issues and I absolutely love it.
