Waiting for the update!!!

Also has anyone set this thing up and tested it out? I would like a customer to comment on this before I make my decision on buying this CAI.

I know of several that have purchased it on a pre-order basis. Only one from this site that i know of. I wont say who without them saying first. Also torq is considered to be a customer of LSR. We have no association other than they tested our parts.

Did you do any testing without a tune on it? How unstable was it?

It would have been nice to see an intake only run ...

Without the tune it would be a dangerous lean condition. Drive ability would suffer greatly. Our MAF tube is larger than stock by a considerable amount. So it would only have been a partial dyno run.

I'm interested in this but I feel it is pretty dishonest to make claims on performance when you require a tune. Maybe the CAI is adding 5hp while the tune is what really is giving this increase in power. Maybe any other CAI would still result in the same increase with the sme tune, or close to the same.

or maybe the cai "creates a dangerous lean condition". which requires fuel to be added to compensate. tunes always increase power, and IMO if you just throw on a cai and not tune it, its just as bad as putting on a set of long tunes and not optimizing the engine for the modification.

How is this dishonest. We even showed the gains from a car with a tune and just adding the intake and it was like 20-25HP. No other intake shows gains like that, from what we or others have seen. So the total with the tune and intake is 40+HP but it REQUIRES a tune...it cannot run without one

Yes but there are no mention of what gains are able to be achieved with the CAI without a tune and it's only stated you require a tune for your CAI.

And showing the gains of a tune and then a CAI & a tune is meaningless unless the tune is exactly the same between having the CAI and not having the CAI.
