Nice intake and great pic's. I had the same setup on my old 2004 ProCharged 350z and I cut the pipe 6" from the bottom and remounted the air filter to prevent hydrolock. I would suggest doing that, this filter location is real close to the bottom of the bumper.

Sounds like a good Idea!

The filter location is around the driver's side fog light and is well protected from road debris and wet roads. You would have to drive the car through 1 ft. of water before water ingestion.

Put something in the fenderwell about where the fliter would sit and see how it fairs. I've only been in FL for vacation so your situation may be different. One size doesn't always fit all.
Yea, looks like a great product...but yes, I have dunked in about a foot of water before here. Sunshine state my ass...

I am sure there are ways around it and purchasing something to help hydrolock...just seems like more work than needed when I can just go CAinductions and be fine...but as you said, its all preference. I don't think anyone is wrong

I had this on my Camaro and drove in plenty of rain. Never once had a single issue. Install is not that big of a deal and I like the Injen replacement washer fluid tank better than the stock unit. If you search I did a extensive write up on the installation.

I will go out on a limb and say when Jannetty gets to their next V-8 CAI test, the Injen fender-well unit will be at the top in performance.

In their V-6 testing it was the best and has been backed up by several LT/LS owners independently.

I have been reading a lot of concerns on hydro-lock. IMHO I don't think there is much to worry about. It would take a substancial amount of water to get get to the engine. I run two air scoops which are much closer to the road and even in pooring rain I have never even had moisture reach my airbox. Part of this may be due to evaporation but regardless it has never been a problem for me.

In order to Hydrolock the motor the air filter would have to be completely submerged in water. Injen has done a ton of testing in house, The moral of the story is you would have to basically be driving in water that is up to your hood before for it would start sucking water.

The thing you have to remember to is that it's also a liability for Injen if these kits we're prone to suck water.

Just something to think about.

- 1 ceramic coat the inside

then you'd REALLY be makin' some gains
A cover or case or box for the filter & a runner to the grill - THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!! If you develop something like that, PLEASE let me know about it!

Am I correct in assuming that the two air scoops are the silver areas under the fog lamps? If so, & I am truly hoping so, WHERE did you get that setup - I want one!!! That is very similar to the Kenne Bell setup I have on my 1987 Grand National.
