Yeah, Ford is giving the 2010 Camaros away. A buddy of mine just bought one. He wanted to get the 2011, but ford gave him a 0% interest rate & absorbed $7,000 worth of negative equity & he payment was still under $500 month.

Why is Ford giving 2010 Camaros away?

What does it matter who sells what? What matters is if you like your car, whatever it is. Do you need sales charts to tell you if something is good? Love your car for what it is and if someone wants to love another style or brand, so what. Some people like red and some blue. Whatever.

Ford only makes about 5000 GT500 coupes a year and less than 2500 convertibles. Don't forget that many perspective Mustang buyers refused to buy a 2010 knowing that the 5.0 motor would be out in 2011. So...sales were down in late 2009/early 2010 because Mustang buyers wanted the 2011 with the 5.0, and undoubtedly some of those perspective buyers did buy a Camaro instead. Mustang GT leases are pretty cheap right now. It might take a year to get the numbers in perspective, but then that might go askew if/when the Camaro convertible FINALLY comes out (I put my deposit down nearly 3 1/2 years ago).

Hell, there are people that get paid to try to figure this stuff out and even they can't get it right! I guess we are only guessing too.

I thought they we doing 20,000 Convertables a year, or at least thats what someone told me. They said Camaro should do 20001 just to rub it in fords face. I don't know why.

Im glad the Mustang is selling better now. It's good for the consumer when the competition puts on the pressure. This mean Chevy will do even more to make the Camaro number 1 and we might even see discounts end of year and a even better Camaro for 2012 and beyond.

I want a Z28 so bad..

2500 Mustang convertibles a year? I feel like there's a zero missing. Seems like every third Mustang in NC is a convertible.

Agreed, Im in Cary too and it seems like every third car that passes me is a Mustang Vert or Camry. I have been seeing a lot more Camaro's though.
