They're actually keeping it cheaper for us. Who do you think would be paying for the 35% that has to be thrown away? So not only would those of us who want the longer stripes be paying for the extra materials and labor just for our car, but now we'll be paying approximately 33% of the cost of the scraped pieces, the labor wasted for putting on the scraped pieces, and the labor spent taking off the scraped pieces.

I dunno. I just saw that flyer of all the stripe options and the black Camaro with the orange rally stripes that clearly go past the hood. Then again, that thing was a V6, so... yeah. The mailslot is the main issue here, vinyl would be hard-pressed to wrap around all those angles and edges.

I'm glad I'm opting for Hockeys... yet now that I saw that yellow car showing off all the accessories donning hockeys that clearly have no surrounding pinstripe like I want, I already know I am going to the aftermarket. I don't care, less money to finance.

IMO.... the cheap I think are talking about is insignificant when compared to the image of Camaro within the public eye.

I will defend GM and Chevrolet to the hilt where it is productive but as the poll numbers on this topic show the short stripe is not in favor here. I do not care about cheap in this instance. If I am shelling out SS money then a proper looking car is needed.

Poll: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9238

When I look at the proposed short stripes I see the hood of a U Haul truck.

I'm certainly not saying it was a bad thing for GM to initially try to save the customer $ with shorter stripes. But the customer is now speaking and I hope they'll listen.
Waste - don't care about a bit of wasted vinyl.
Installation - admittedly, I don't know how difficult and time consuming it would be, but I do know what appears extremely difficult to do to the layman can be done with ease and made to look simple by the professional.

Do we really know if these stripes are going to end at hood or on header panel . has any one seen a brochure from a dealer? My dealer can not tell me that the stripes are one or the other, and they have not recieved the brochures. so how do we know i am going with the inferno orange and the cyber gray stripes which will be installed by my dealership when car arrives .

Why wait? If you own all the cars you claim to in your sig you are obviously a millionaire so what does cost matter to you? Just buy one now and when the 2011's come out buy another. No problem!

I must be the only one that's happy with the stripes the way they are. I just wish they were offered in red. In my opinion the short stripes look way better than those cheesy cars with stripes that start on the bottom of the front lip and don't stop till they reach the exhaust.
