It's a well known fact they are underrated and a number of R/Ts have been weighed at just under 40000 pounds. So basically the same HP, a little it more weight and the fact that generally run low/low mid 13s with the auto which is what the L99 generally runs and yes, a DAMNED close race.

An R/T, with a tune, longtubes, drag radials, full catback exhaust (3" MBRP, for example) and a CAI will and has been known to run in the mid 12's if not lower. I'm not saying the Camaro doesnt have a weight advantage and gearing, what I am saying is that an auto R/T will give a L99 a run for its money and if the slightest thing goes wrong (tire spin, missed light, etc) the R/T can win. I'm sorry, the L99 isnt in a class of its own, the auto Mustang and Challenger are right beside it. And if absolutely necessary I'll put my stock air intake and box back in and run all over again to make a point. |

OK guys how about we get back to the topic that got this thread started. To be honest I was never worried about the RT's anyway. Not even the current SRT8's.:5thgenvert: 6.4 VS 6.2 please. Last edited by MG; 07-02-2010 at 12:37 PM. |

Is the 6.4L engine in the current R/T? 'Cause if it isn't, why is there so much discussion about the R/T going on?
