I quit 18 years ago and would still like to have one every now and again. It gets better with time, but staying busy will really help. Go install that grill

My wifey smoked for a few years, and would from time-to-time until she had our son, but she still wants them years later. She's stronger than me Stay distracted, LOL!

Good job little fellow, keep it up it will be worth it in the end. I have been smoke free for 7 years now, I was very impatient with the wife for the first few weeks but we managed to survive.

It is truly amazing how much better you feel after the first few days of not ingesting the weed. You just need to fight against the brain and its habit need. Chemical dependency goes within about 3 days, its the habitual conditioning that is the hardest part to break.
You need to replace it with something, fitness or a hobby. One thing I found useful was to carry around a small piece of cloth that was impregnated with tobacco smoke. Sniff it when you feel weak, this is how others smell you. It really is vile. I took the view that I was being held hostage by the tobacco companies who were profiting from my misery. I used t be so pro-choice/smoking it was embarrassing. I saw smoking as almost a stand for personal choice, but tbh that is bollocks. A smoker is a slave, condemned to a life of noxious chemicals. Yes I have become one of those ant-smoking zealots. Great job, keep it up. |

Congrats Randy on quitting smoking. Think of the extra cash that you'll have to improve your car.
Quitting drinking is how I paid for my last Harley. Habits are expensive.

Got drunk last night. Everyone was smoking. It was hard not to smoke and yet easy at the same time.
I'm still getting up really early in the am. |

Congrats dude! I personally haven't smoked, but I know its hard to quit because everybody else in my family either does or has at one point. My parents are the only ones that have successfully quit, my 3 older sisters and two of my bro in-laws have all tried and failed multiple times. I'm sure its already been said, but every day on top of how much better you feel, just start running a tally of how much money you would have been spending on cigs. Maybe even stash that money off to the side for something special after you've made a set amount of time with no cigarettes. Amazing how fast it adds up!
