I'd offer a you ride, but I don't think many of y'all are silly enough to take a ride around the track with my booty behind the wheel. LMAO

Heck, she's almost too pretty for the track anymore.

I bet I know where you can get a killer deal on a CGM 1SS.....lol

Already has LT's and a muffler delete on it even!!

I have had bad experiences at all of the Chevy dealers here in town....I know to each his own! But I am a little princess and I like my car to be treated as one as well! I take mine to Galles & Davis Cadillac! Yes, I know....but you know my service guy Greg comes out and greets me immediately (so do the other service techs) takes my order...makes sure I have a ride and if not drives me to work and will pick me up! Calls and gives updates! If I have a ride, the service tech comes up and covers almost every visible thing with plastic and then takes my car...when I get it back its washed and shiny! You know this is how Service is supposed to be! Everyone should be treated like they have a Cadillac. I took it to one of the Chevy dealers and got there at Odarkthirty! Sat in line...no one cared...no one came to me I had to get out and walk in to find the rep! And then they didn't fix the problem so I had to take off from work again only to find out that they ordered the wrong part so it took three trips to fix and very minor problem! Galles & Davis!!! The way to go! Talk to Greg! Tell him Beth sent you!

Thanks Beth, I'd actually not considered that it might be possible to take the car to another non Chevy GM dealer, can they take care of warranty or recall types of things there also do you know?

Yes they can! Also, as you might have read on the forum alot of people have been having problems when they take their cars in for oil changes that they aren't getting 8 quarts...I checked mine and they did it right at Galles & Davis! Yeah! Greg did say that they can't take a Camaro that was purchased at Reliable though...don't know what the reason is. They do have a Yellow 1SS/RS on their lot if anyone is looking.

You can take your car anywhere for service and it won't "void" your warranty.

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act:

http://autopedia.com/html/HotLinks_LemonMM2.html

The law basically states that if a manufacturer "requires" a customer to have to have a specific brand of part or material to retain his or her vehicle warranty, then the dealer would have to provide that part to the customer free of charge.

Meaning, if Chevrolet (for instance) required you to use Mobile 1 oil in their cars when changing the oil, guess who pays for it?? That's right-Chevrolet.

Notice its "recommended" not "required." Interesting twist isn't it?

The catch is that only certain ones are able to perform work that would be deemed "warrantable" under current GM bylaws if you in fact needed work that fell underneath your warranty. Most (other than GM) other places certainly wouldn't be able to perform recall work since they a.)don't usually keep up with other brand TSB's and Recall info and b.)wouldn't have the training or tools to perform such work.

However, any and every (GM) Chevy, Pontiac, Oldmobile, Hummer, Cadillac, and Buick Dealership across America can do warranty work.

You can take your car to Honda, Subaru, Hummer, pretty much anywhere you want to go. It's up to them to determine what your car needs and how much of it goes in there.

That's why most people always take their Honda to Honda, Chevy to Chevy and so on and so forth. Because you would assume that they would know the car better than anyone since it's what they see everyday.

I fought this fight several dozens of times before and seen so many awesome things when it comes to dealers vs fast lubes vs do it your selfers.

As far as Galles and Davis saying that they won't work on "cars from Reliable," that's somebody pulling somebody's leg.

Somebody at Galles and Davis apparently doesn't like Reliable.

Thanks Beth & Ivan,
I'm purchasing my Camaro from a dealer in Montrose Colorado so Reliable Chevrolet won't be an issue. I'm not worried to much about voiding a warranty as I know fairly well what would or wouldn't void one, rather who can or is authorized to perform warranty work should the need arrise. Since our Camaros are Perfect !! I'm sure I won't need that anyway !
Thanks for the advise you guys are great !!

Hmm, I was going to recommend Reliable on the west side. They were awesome to deal with. I shopped around for a LONG TIME and was treated the best BY FAR there. They weren't pushy, didn't attempt to even talk car knowledge to me, and took care of any problems I've had. Buying the car was actually the easiest part, not that any of it was really hard. There was a dent in the driver's side door when I bought it and they took care of it that next week I had it. No issues, gave me rides everywhere, polite, informative, quick, everything I could ask for.

I wouldn't be taking my car in for anything that I couldn't fix myself, especially oil changes. When you leave your car in the hands of someone else, you'll never know if it was done right!

I can say, that Casa was not good, and as a result I did my first oil change ever with the supervision of RS (AKA hubby) I don't know who I would trust for maintenance stuff. It's sad when you know more about the camaro than the service techs. Let's ALL get together for the meet and greet, and maybe a cruise, and then we can talk about all these issues!

I guess the moral of this story is that some of us have good experiences at different dealers and some of us don't. I can't say any one is better than the other...but so far everyone at Galles & Davis has been good and done things right the first time. I don't really know what the deal is with Reliable, but the service manager asked if I had purchased mine from there and said that if I had they would not be able to the work on the car....some sort of agreement with them...I didn't ask!
I know that when I was looking to buy the Camaro...I first went to Reliable and the General Manager told me I would have to take what ever they had coming in. Wouldn't take an order. Kept trying to get me to use thier financing....I said no....I wanted to pay for the car so I wanted bottom line pricing! GMS to be exact! They said no way. Next stop Galles....we knew more about the car than the salesman there.Told him we wanted to order one...he said no way...No GMS pricing and thier price was 1500 over MSRP, take it or leave it! Last stop was Casa....they were the worst. There were three camaro's on the floor. I asked to test drive one and they said no....only if you bought them.....two people just left and three of us stayed. I asked to speak to the sales manager and they said sure thing....then this guy comes over and I tell him that I am looking a buying a Camaro and want to take the one that I am interested in out for a spin. He said you have to sign a contract first. Then I looked at the sticker on the car and noticed that the 2SS RS was market $10K above MSRP!!!!! I told him I wanted GMS pricing and he just laughed and said you pay the price thats on the car or you don't get the car! Walked away! By the time I left there 10 people walked out shaking thier heads as to how they could treat customers that way. Two weeks later I had my baby from Phoenix! I drove in there and drove by the sales manager out front and flipped him off! Made me feel good! I know it was childish...but it sure felt good. Two months later the salesman from Galles called to say they would sell me a Camaro at GMS pricing. Told him I already got one at GMS!
