I'm not sure how many people have been going lately. It's been a while since I had my SS so I haven't been around and usually just catch the tail end of it when most people have already left. A few of the times I went last year there were usually around 30-40+ cars that would come through. It's from 8-11am I think. I'm sure there are more now that the previous Cars and Coffee that was at Southlands Mall kept getting bounced to other places and as far as I know those people probably just go to The Great Indoors one now. I used to go to the Southlands one but fewer and fewer people were showing up.

sounds good.... would like to do next weekend, but not sure of weekend schedule yet. Out of town people and daughter's Vet school graduation reception on Friday. 5/19 sounds pretty good though. Only thing that might stop me is if the new clutch goes in on 5/17..18 and doesn't go as planned. Was hoping to already drive to Laramie and have done.... but no parts yet - so 5/18 is next available date.

So what's the expected due date for the new Camaro baby

I agree when you push something it will fail earlier than if you don't.However when your already behind the 8ball with known failures. And have other issues with things that don't get PUSHED beyond their limits then why invest more $ into an almost assured additional headache.
It would be like drinking 1 beer likin it and then rinkng 5 more and wondering why I'm buzzed.

I'm going back to Nebraska on the 19th. Maybe sometime at the end of May or in June would work.

The color I want isn't going to be out right away and the rumors I've seen say it might be available for August builds. Assuming my dealer has an allocation around then, I'm thinking I'll be lucky to have my car sometime in October :( But I think the new blue color will be worth the wait. I'm going to try to find a dealer that has a '13 Vette ordered in that color so I can see it in person and make sure I like it.

I'm leaning really hard towards Frisco BBQ..... sounds like a nice drive too.

Anything to do on your Camaro before Camaro5festIII? I've got a Street Slayer RPS triple carbon clutch on order - hopefully fix high rpm shifts completely and be streetable (like everything else... I've heard far extremes between good & bad - but in the end, don't want tranny damage due to clutch)

Should be another fun one at Cfest

I'm seriously considering an RPM or Tick Performance transmission because mine is such a POS. Third gear always grinds...no matter what. Still looking for a hydraulics solution as Tick has not come up with anything. One sponsor here has an upgraded master available, but I really wanted the Keisler solution, but it appears to not be available. Their sexy all aluminum master cylinder had no electrical plug for the pedal sensor, so that's probably why it was never built in mass. Also got to make a clutch decision...
Not sure how hard i want to push my car, being 1800 miles from home for CFEST 3, since we plan on driving to Detroit right after and then doing the Dreamcruise up there two weeks later and driving home. Nitrous tends to be hard on parts, and I have not stepped up to the 9" diff and driveshaft yet....also, can't put slicks in the backseat and have room for luggage. lol

I have some more stripes to try out and some more black-out painting to do as well. Plus, my wife wants me to redo her S2000 with a body kit and color change before end of summer, so I will be busy when I get back. I'm about 10 days out from leaving this pi$$-hole. Tired of people parking car bombs and firing RPG's at the gate. Gets on your nerves.

Blower fan replaced
Radiator replaced
Muffler rattle,Hajek wouldn't cover it. $600 for new Flowmaster
2 a/c compressor failures, latest now is it stops blowing cold air then starts again.
Unknown cost for that.
Replaced radio antenna because reception sucked
Blown front speaker
Had to disassemble the whole back speaker cover because it rattled so bad
The clicking of the rear wheels that I had to bring the car back 2x and was lied to about spacers being installed.
And let's not forget about the early Vin Trans shaft snapping issues.
Or the early vin cars snapping CV's on hard launches.

I'd love to bring the car to Brian and have him cam it and tweak my rear but how much time do I have left on this shaft or CV's.
So while I do love the Camaro I just think It's time to move on to what I've always wanted since I was a little kid.
Damn....and I thought my car had issues. That is a laundry list of failures.
Sorry to hear that.
Sounds like typical first-year woes.

Golden Driving Cruise Events--3rd Saturday of the month

For all those of you who did not know ( It was news to me and I stumbled across this accidentally), the Golden Cruise people put on a Driving Cruise every Third Saturday of each month.
In other words, a bunch of the cruisers get together and instead of hanging in Golden, they head to Estes Park, Boulder or do Colfax or something. Since I will be out of town for some of the Golden cruises, this would be a cool "second chance" to cruise.

Figured I'd pass it along.

Ok, time to stop hogging the site.

AquaRSSS' comment about car guys is something that I'd hafta agree with 100%. Rob, I'm more than a little saddened at how few true gearheads there are in this forum. What I see more often than not are guys throwing on a couple bolt-ons like cold-air, K&N filter, axle-back exhaust, and thinking they are now car-guys. At the risk of sounding like a geezer, I gotta say I grew up in a time where it was a matter of pride and a rite of passage to work on your own car, and do REAL stuff - like camshafts and heads and gears and etc. I see very few people in this forum (of course there are a few exceptions) that actually do some serious gearhead wrenchin' on their Camaro's. Seems like most guys just take their car to someone, hand them the keys and a pile of money, and then think they've "built" a fast car. Guys act like changing out heads or a camshaft is equivalent to building the Atlas V rocket. These cars are so incredibly simple to work on - I'm stupified that people aren't rolling up their sleeves and getting into it on their own. Personally, I have ZERO respect for a guy that just hands his car to another dude and says "make it fast" and writes out a check - and THEN talks like he actually knows something about cars, or making cars fast. Oh, and then of course, most of the guys that do that have no clue how to even shift their cars, but that's a WHOLE 'nother issue.

This is a roll-call...if you're an old-school gearhead, please check in!!

Sam

LOL that would be me hand the car to a shop and ask them to do everything your opinion and I respect it. doesn't necessarily mean I think its right.

Completely disassembled a 67 mustang and rebuilt it for my wife. Granted I did farm out the body work and paint. But I did the rest.Sold the car to a neighbor who still drives it to this day.Working on a 69 nova, removed sub frame and re- enforced it so I can drop in a 396. That's after I switch over from drum to disc brakes. Every Harley I have owned has had the front ends stripped down and powdercoated. And all the engines were upgraded with either cams ,heads or cylinder work.I've done some simple upgrade to my camaro but haven't done anthing with the internals such as cam or head work. And frankly being a Maintenance tech since I got out of high school has me a little burnt out doing major things mechanical in my free time. It's one of those deals where I'm old enough and have a little extra cash to have someone do it.
My feeling...Been there, done that bought the tee shirt, wore it out and now use it to clean my dip stick when I check my oil.

Classy response Walhan
I have done a header install CAI intake TB stuff like that but never did a cam, heads ..etc and I sucked even on those simple stuff haha....

on my vettes I only did CAIs. cant afford screwing up a $18000 engine. I dont care if that doesnt make me a "gearhead". I dont want to screw up a 18k engine to be called a "gearhead" and believe me I saw people that did and then ended up paying someone else to do the work for them.....

what matter is who is faster!!! thats how I see it.
