hrpiii! Good to see you. I'm anxious to see what you have in store for us. I feel like I'm juggling right now and trying to keep all the torches in the air. There are so many pieces all coming together at one time. I should be getting my showstopper pieces (artwork!) this week. The Maggie is waiting for me at IPS. The oil catch can has been ordered. The custom trunk mat (with sound dampening) is in the works at a local carpet store. All I need now is for IPS to move into their new shop. |

Ok, I'm getting a lil po'd about my wheels and how easily the paint scratches. I went to put air in them today and the stem is close to the barrel of the wheel and the air chuck scratched the pain. I mean right through the paint. Showed the aluminum right through it. I touched it up with my lil bottle of touch up paint, but it looks like hell.
My wheels have several blemishes in them now. Bummer. Fortunately, Savini says they guarantee the paint for one year and most of the paint problems are chips around the rim and lug holes. (paint flaws). I am going to have to ship the wheels to Savini to be repaired this fall after I park the car for winter. I am considering asking if they can put some sort of more durable finish on them. Do you guys know if they can do an anodized black finish? Or perhaps a black powdercoated finish? The wheels are indeed beautiful, but the painted finish is just too frail. |

I love the style of my wheels, so I'd like to keep them (I also paid a lot for them and can't afford to take a big hit on them). Can paint be removed in some solvent back to the bare aluminum? After that they could then be powder coated? |

Then a blasting to give the powder something to bite into...much like paint, the powder process is only as good as the prep work! It's something to consider....I'm patiently waiting on a decent powder match to cyber grey metallic for my wheels and inferno orange metallic for my calipers. |

I wonder if Savini would refinish them by powder coating them rather than repainting. I'm very disappointed with the poor durability of the paint. It's beautiful, but just is too easily chipped and scratched.

I just sent an email to Nick at Savini to see if they can powder coat them.
I'll keep driving on them this summer, but when the snow starts to fly, I'll ship my wheels off to be fixed. I'm glad I kept my stock wheels. |

The clear on the outer edge of my wheel paint is beginning to chip away too. I'm going to have to see if there's something I can do about that before it gets too bad...preventative stuff...
