Man, that bites major hose.
I got an email from my dealer this morning at 7:34 AM saying, "The Camaro is loaded on a transport and just waiting to be dispatched to a driver. We are getting close." 300 miles to go and hopefully not many other stops before mine. |

This is really unacceptable how we are being treated. I think once I get my car sometime this century I am going to file a compliant with the BBB. |

i really think the average salesman is just not used to to the tracking ability that the camaro has for its buyers. they are just simply not equipped in most cases to attend to the questions they are faced with by a knowledgeable purchaser. they are used to only having to call when the prep is complete, hey your car is here you can pick it up anytime. with the camaro's tracking options they have to pay attention to different status updates because it's purchasers have that ability to track, by there side thus giving an added opportunity for more questions about the process that we the consumer are not usually privileged to.

I had e-mailed or called my dealer 3 days in a row, asking for truck tracking info after my rail car showed "Empty", and say he has nothing / could get nothing. Then he suddenly he calls out of the blue and says, “the car is at his dealership, when do I want to pick up”?? We can track a $15 FedEx package, but we can't track a $25-$40,000 car… Probably because of all the different carriers.

My car finally came this afternoon. After I called them.....
I believe the dealers do have tracking to the trucks though don't want us to use it. The railcar for instance just says where our car is at and it secure all the way on the rail. Some idiot might tail the truck and try and steal the cars if a customer has a tracking. If the reason is for security then I agree not to give it out to customers. However, they can still look at the site and see maybe truck available to ship on xxxx or ETA xxxx. If they have that information available they could give us that. If the dealers do not have the information (which I highly doubt) someone should be providing it from GM to them because the customers will be angry with the dealers when they are not fault. In both situations GM needs to change the tracking process to provide better visibilty to the customers and/or dealers to provent frustration. |

i agree a purchase of this caliber should be able to have ETA info available, if not than GM needs to re-evaluate the position they are putting their dealerships (the ones they decided not to shut down) in, especially in this new everything information wise at your fingertips era. They are really showing their age in this industry. I had made a comment before about how an $850 destination charge, is ridiculous, especially when companies like Volkswagen and BMW charge half as much and supply the cars with an individual protected box to travel in overseas. Triple to distance, double to protection, half the price. I am pleased with my purchase and what GM has done with the car i decided to purchase but the shipping process probably has turned me off of buying a GM again. I just can't get over that a car built and ordered by a dealership for sale. can sit at any point after production for 2weeks (11 days so far in my case). that is unacceptable to me as a consumer, show me progress if not than i will be forced to believe that despite all your best efforts my tax dollars will yet again be going to fund your company sometime down the road.

I'm going to be super pissed if i go through this whole week without an update...
here is how my day went: 1. Phone call and voicemail from dealer at 9am saying "call me back!". I call him back excited to hear good news and all he has to say is "your car is not here today as scheduled".....obviously douchebag thanks for the pointless/heartbreaking call 2. I call customer service who tells me "your car is in transit to the dealership" 3. More lies from customer service reps who tell me it is in transit. I asked "So you can confirm that my car has left the plant and is in transit?" They Replied "yes" 4. Sales manager from Marchant Chevrolet (Great Guy) spent all day talking to people about my car and calls me to find out that the car is still awaiting shipment onto a railcar because they aren't full yet 5. My loan started today....without a car to justify signing away 60 months... |
