I ended up getting the 235/60R-18 BRIDGESTONE BLIZZAK DM-V1 XL for my 2012 Camaro, and let me tell you, those tires are AWESOME! I live in Pittsburgh and we've been getting hit with lots of snow lately. These tires get me everywhere I need to go. My coworkers tease me and tell me my Camaro will get stuck in the snow, but then when I blow past them on the highway I laugh!!! These Blizzak tires are the best investment I've ever made. Thanks Rudy!!

21 inch wheel tire options

Hi guys,

I spoke to a guy at a well known tire shop about options for my 21" wheel. Other than the outrageously priced parelli's i was told that I could change the tire size slightly for another option

Front 245/35R21
Rear 275/30R21

The tires are Hankook Ventus v12 Evo2's

According to the tire guy, the only difference was that the side wall would be ~ 1/2 shorter.

Has anyone tried this size tire, or other tire sizes in their 21" wheels?

I like the look of the 21" wheel btw and don't want to change them.

Appreciate your feedback.

Thanks

Hello, sorry to post on an old thread.

I was just a bit concerned with Winter coming up soon this year and living in CO, what the best option for winter tires would be. I clicked on the tire rack link and it gave me a package recommendation for my camaro of the:

BRIDGESTONE
BLIZZAK WS80
Studless Ice & Snow
Size: 235/65R17 104H

With the:
SPORT EDITION
A9
FRONT AND REAR
Size: 17x7.5
rims

I just want to make sure if I got this package that it would fit on the 2014 camaro 2LT RS (I have the 20" rims stock) and also would not have too much of an effect on the speedometer calibration. Like my speedo says 50 but radars read 55.

Thanks in advance!

Hello!

That package will fit and work great for winter. Speedo may be off 1 mph. It's as close as you can get in a 17 inch diameter. When ordering please either call me direct or if ordering online click on he link in the stick thread at the top of the wheel and tire forum and reference "Rudy/Camaro5" as your sales contact.

Thanks,

Rudy

Hey guys, I realize this is a older thread but I will continue to monitor daily during the fall and winter season of 2016/2017.

When I enter my car as a 2013 1LE, which it is, the 19s it offers are all 19x9. I'd much rather have a 19x8 or 8.5 that are offered for the SS both for affordability and for running a narrower tire. Is there a reason that 19x9 is the only alternate size for the 1LE? Can I order a 19x8 or 8.5 and expect it to fit? If I understand correctly the 1LE and the SS have the same brakes in 2013 so a 19 should clear regardless of width.

Thanks for any input!

Sorry for second post, just thought of another question. Is it worth it to change out the front pads to get rid of the roller skates and get 18 inch wheels. Or stick with 19s?

Rudy, Can I tag along with cawj87's question regarding 1LE fitment?

I've always been very happy with how easy selection has been but for a car like ours with such a specific fitment it has been a bit of a chore.

I'd love to pick up a set of those Michelin Alpins that are on special closeout, but selecting complementary rims (and trying to get the best value) is really hard since I know there are a pretty good number of 19" x 10" wheels out there but the site keeps trying to give me a select few. I know the "roller skates" can cause fitment issues and I can deal with that if I need to.

Essentially, I was trying to really pinch my pennies and get the $90 winter tires and pair them with a more affordable rim, but the only wheels the system would give me were $300+, at which point it would be just as expensive as a set of winter rubber for my OEM wheels.

Any way you could try to put together a "super value package" for me with those Alpin tires?

By the way, I chatted with Calvin on the site a few days ago, I'm always impressed with how helpful you guys are. Absolutely fantastic customer service.

Guys you can go with the SS fitments and they will fit the 1LE but they will be tucked in a little versus what you have now. You can swap out pads to get rid of the roller skate dampers and then you can go to 18 inch which are even cheaper. I would suggest referencing my name so I can double check fitment before they ship.

Terry - What size are the Michelin's that you're trying to fit up. Usually with these cars there is no super duper value package but I will do my best.

Excellent! Thank you! So I've picked a 19x8.5 wheel. What would be the ideal tire size? 235 or 255 and 40 or 45 aspect ratio?

The ones I was looking at were 285/40/19 PILOT ALPIN PA3 N-SPEC - $91 on Special/Closeout and showed in stock in my zip 06360.

I really appreciate the help from you guys!

I may have just lucked into a great used set here on the forum, but even so, I'm sure the information would still be helpful to other members.
