Hey guys there's a car show next month at Johnny Angels, it's a 50s diner off St. John's bluff, and it's free to register. Should be a blast, plus they're giving out prizes and trophies. I'm signing up and if anyone wants to join me just let me know! I think it's July 19th?

Try on helmet for purchase?

I'm looking to get a helmet one of these days for drag racing. Where does one try one on around Orange Park/Jacksonville? I've read that different manufacturers and models fit differently. I don't want the cheapest or the most expensive so I'm looking to stay around $500 or less.

Hmm... Been to SGMP for the first Camaro 5 Fest. Nice place. Still want to get one just to be safe, plus I don't think my wife will like the idea of me driving without one either.

Never been to Gainesville, which is where I was going to go. How is SGMP better?

I've been to Gainesville probally about twenty times between 2 of the camaros I have owned I always had traction issues meaning spinning the tires off the line. Track prep at SGMP is as good on test and tune as it is during their big events Gainesville only preps the track well for their big events.

Good to know. Timewise, SGMP is only about 30 minutes longer I guess. Since I've never been down a 1/4 track, I'll need all the help I can get. I'll be checking what little ego I have at the entrance to the track. LOL

Appreciate it! Not sure when I'll make it up there with work, family, summer vacation, and did I mention work.. but I'll try to give you some notice. I may try to head up there whenever a group from FL drives up.

I sure wanted to try three years ago at the Fest, but I was too late in registering. Was awesome seeing all those Gen 5 Camaros in one place, especially since they were still still kind of rare.

I've run better times at SGMP consistently over Gainesville. It is a good bit further but it's worth the extra miles.

############ Reality Check For Gen 5 Owners #############

Just an FYI guys and girls. Yesterday I arrived home to our apartment complex here on Hodges Blvd and saw my neighbors 201X sitting on cinder blocks. His/her 20 inch factory wheels were stolen just 10 parking spots down from my vehicle (My heart skipped a beat when I saw his/her car). My car was parked beneath a light pole, while theirs in a dark area with no light. I can honestly say this is likely the reason mine were not stolen along with theirs. Immediately after seeing their car on blocks I picked up some locks locally and have a set of Gorillas on the way to replace those. Just a reminder that stock wheels aren't immune from theft as well.

Yikes! I was always scared when i had my apartment, and have had a set of Gorillas on mine for a while now. Thankful to have a garage now, also. Hopefully the thief gets caught.
