Struggling! Missed my workout yesterday, felt all funky because I couldn't see.

I've had some strange retina issues over the past 3 years, my right eye has had a bubble on the retina then it was thinning last year. This year I went to get my normal eye exam and my regular eye doctor found some thinning on my left eye. She sent me to the retina specialist right away. It took a week and a half to get the appointment. As the retinal specialist looked into my left eye he noticed the thinning and said, no cause for alarm there. He then looked into my right eye and said, you have a hole in your retina. We will take care of that today, a little laser surgery and you will be on your way. WTF!!! 10 minutes later I was done with my first retinal laser treatment. At 41 years old I have a feeling that I won't have vision for my entire life. This sucks.

Gotta get on the bike tonight.

Ok, so updates-
I have gone Gluten & Dairy free.
This was actually part of an experiment. I went without either for a full week, then ate a little bit and immediately (within 3 minutes) had severe reactions to both.
Not preaching, but this has made a huge difference for me.
Overall I feel better. Much better, and after a large meal there is no crash and tiredness.

Ok, now, I realize that this is going to sound like some hippie BS, but I have also switched to the Vibram five Finger Shoes. Not just for working out but for everything.
I have a medical issue with the arch in my right foot, and these shoes help to correct the issue. They also allow for me to feel my car, especially when heel-toe shifting.

I also did finally join a gym. Just cardio and squats so far. I am currently doing 90 minutes of cardio 3-4 times a week, so let's see how that works and what I can build that up.

Howdy Boys & Girls! Trying out some new things, NOW Spirulina powder, been reading about this superfood stuff for years, so I got some and opened it up. Not the best smelling stuff, but once I added some water and grape juice, Peeeee U. Smells like a pond or swamp in the middle of a Hot Summer Day. Also trying out S.A.N. Green Supreme Fusion, love those green drinks, new to this brand, and S.A.N. Rawfusion vanilla bean plant based protein. Haven't tried it yet, still finishing my jug of whey protein. This stuff is all natural and has only one gram of sugar. Read the description of it on bodybuilding.com and it sounded pretty good. I've been using whey protein for decades so just trying something new.

If anybody has tried any of these products let me know what you think of them.

I read an article about that, explaining that the less cushion under your foot is better that way the foot can give you better support and balance! Right now I have a very small cushion tennis for my HIIT... I'm thinking on use them on legs days as well...

They also force you to walk on the balls of your feet, as nature designed you to do.
Honestly they are a bit uncomfortable at first, for a day or so. I wore them all day everyday for a week, and the arch issue in my foot started to get better.
I still get strange looks everywhere I go, and you have to go barefoot or get the special Injinji socks for them. I chose to get a bunch of pairs of the socks. If there is an REI store near you I advise you to go there. The service is top notch, and you can return anything if if wears out or breaks.

I've worn the Fila Skele-toes shoes and I like them. I wore them barefoot though and it is easy to get stinky feet that way. I need to get me a new pair of those or the Five finger ones.

Even with the socks, I still have to spray them about every other day to keep them from smelling like a 6 pack of death

wasnt bad actually, I guess one of the huge reasons I couldnt hold on to the bar was because my hands are always sweaty...chalk definitely helped a lot....

I used double overhand grip for most of the lifts so I could build up my grip strength and then switched to a mixed grip when it got too heavy...currently doing 5/3/1 program, I love it
