I've shot them at the range and just didn't do anything for me. But they work and quite a few reviews I've seen of other guns are usually compared to the Glock.

I do not shoot glocks because I do not like the ergonomics. I am started as a 1911 guy. So springfield fits me better. I would however take a glock in calibers I do not shoot regularly like 9mm or even 10mm just to have as good just in case I have that caliber handgun. Glocks are work horses. They are the honda of handguns. I do not buy honda's either. They bore me to death!

On another note:

I am curious if you guys have any experience between two semi auto .308's I am looking to acquire.

Fulton Armory FAR-308 Phantom LTE: Side cocking BCG and 18.5" criterion barrel

http://www.fulton-armory.com/farifle...4-2-5-1-2.aspx

Patriot Ordnance aka POF: P308 Gen 4 in 20" barrel all np3 coated

http://pof-usa.com/p308/

I am really leaning towards the POF P308 Gen 4. I found a private supplier and can get wholesale on the POF rifle for the same cost as the fulton. Although the whole gun is custom NP3 coated by Rabar and it is Gas piston. The upper and lower is also 7075 forged t6 treated vs fulton 6065. I know this is not a make it or break it part but nice to be the best available. The research shows out to 1000 yards both guns are very accurate. The Fulton is guaranteed to 1moa but I know the Pof is as well from research with snipers and law enforcement.

It's been years since I looked at POF but they didn't have the best reliability back then. I would read more into how they are now before I put down that kind of cash.

Ergonomics are the killing factor for me with Glocks. I shoot them well enough, but it feels like I'm fighting with the grip the entire time. A far better pistol IMHO with the exact same operations is the Steyr pistol. Made in the same country and designed by one of the original designers of the Glock. They feel great in the hand, unlike the 'brick' grip of the Glock.

Bhobbs- You are right a while ago there was some problems with quality control. Long story I have researched and think that has changed. Some due to the fact there production is not so stressed as it was probably from the information years ago. A Lot of the malfunctions were low powdered .308 or cheap rounds shot before a thorough cleaning and lube from the beginning. This part I was amazed because it has always been standard practice for me to immediately when bought field strip clean and relube everything to make sure in proper working order before shooting.

I have researched 3 law enforcement departments in different locations doing extensive reliability tests with in the last 5 years and praise the company. One in California I believe (could be somewhere else) put 35,600 rounds through the same rifle with a 16." barrel and results were one failed buffer spring around 25k and MOA at 600 yards moved 1.5". I think that is beyond anything I would do in my life anyways. 35k rounds out of any barrel is well used.

Sure bet is the Fulton +1
POF gamble but the price for the full gun brand new is about the price just for the upper. inmho the features in the pof out do the fulton armory. Research has shown both are very accurate beyond my capabilities at the moment.

Thanks for sharing that. I do not know why but never really looked at a steyr before.

If you get the chance to handle or even shoot one don't pass it up. They are extremely underappreciated.

+1 I have their M40... once I held it in my hand, it was sold. Took me one magazine to get used to their sights... simply an amazing pistol. I've had it now for 13 years(?).

Goodbye finger grooves. Hopefully they make a 37M and FHP picks some up.
And the new 5th gen Glocks get recalled due to the slides falling off while firing. Wtg Glock, your new guns didn't even make a week.
