Well, i do park mine in the garage, but I will also be driving a lot this winter, except when there is a foot of snow.
I did drive it Friday night in the light snow we had, no problems at all.
As for the numbers on mtcwby's ride, SWEET!!!
I guess next time I visit the Johnson's Corner for Biscuits and Gravy, I will have to find mtcwby!!!

With the Supercharger you just have to make sure that the engine oil temp is up to normal operating temps before you put alot of load on it. Pretty much the same as driving my diesel pickup, so I'm used to that.

ok,just wondering, mine was a little drained this morning, Probably don't have the top of the line battery in them. Alittle strange it would have happened though. I keep it in the garage at night but it's not insulated so it might have only been 5 or so degrees warmer.

Well I left Colorado Springs this morning at 5 a.m. and drove straight through to Yuma, Arizona. 1100 miles and arrived at 6:00 P.M.
13 hrs. That's averaging 84.5 mph, not bad.
I did have a chance to open it up in northern N.M at around 7 a.m.
this morning, the temp was 20 degrees I could see for ten miles and not
a car in sight. I ran it up to about 6300 rpms in 5th gear. The pic below
shows the top speed recorded on my GPS. I am amazed that
the car doesn't get at all light at that speed. This car is hardley shaped like the Corvette,
the nose being as blunt as it is, I wouldn't think it was that aerodynamic.
No wind noise, doesn't get squirrely, just sticks and goes. By the way,
the front gfx chin spoiler is still there, I guess they figured out
how to keep it from falling off. I'd love to take it to the Texas Mile. I dare someone to Beat that!!!!

The roadrunners weren't out at 20 degrees! And I hope I never find out
about red and blue making purple, but that's an interesting question!!!

Now my high speed experimenting days are over except at the track.
If the track was long enough to do 186, I wouldn't have done it this time.
But, I just had to know if we could bury the speedo in these cars.
And the answer is YES!! Now I'll just keep it under 90 and keep my license and low insurance rates, and look forward to track days. By the way, Yuma, AZ is at 100 ft. I got on it to get around a car yesterday evening
and the car started missing badly. So I got mad at my tuner, thinking something was amiss. I called him and told him what I did. He says to turn off the TC and try it again. I did. Problem solved. There is 28% more power here, so I didn't realize that my tires were spinning that much(55mph in third gear) and cutting the engine power to stop it. He said with the Vortech on my car it makes it ten times more noticeable when the TC and Stabilitrac
kick on. Now I make it habit to shut off the TC.
A Viper came up behind me on the beltway in Phoenix yesterday afternoon,
he pulled along side and revved his engine at about 60 mph. I dropped to
3rd gear and left him eating my tire smoke. He pulled back alongside and
gave me the thumbs up, he was impressed! This thing is now definitely
a snake eater. Cobras and Vipers can't touch this Camaro!!

You obviously didn't read where I said that my high speed attempts are over. Now that I know that it will do it, I don't have to try any more. i'll do all the rest of my high speed stuff on the track!!

I'll be back around the 6th of December. Ya, I thought about it later, that I should have hit 190, but I didn't want to push my luck any further.
I did what I set out to do, and that is to bury the speedo. The speedo goes to 185 and I went 186, but I think it would have hit 190 before I hit the rev limiter. I tried 6th gear at about 180, but it would just hold at that speed,
it wouldn't accelerate any more in 6th. Sixth gear is .50:1 overdrive so it's too tall. Even the Vettes won't pull their top speed in 6th, they can only do it in 5th. Now it might have done it at sea level in 6th, but I was at 6400
ft where I did this run.

Hey guys, I couldn't think of a better post to make my first in. I live in Falcon, CO and just picked up my 2SS/RS M6. Picked it up in Kellogg, ID at Dave Smith Motors and drove it back to Ogden, UT where I am working for a few weeks. I will drive it back to the Springs area next week. Should have her nice and broke in by then. Picked it up for $1250 under invoice, and loving every minute of it. It will not be staying stock for long. Plan on exhaust, short throw shifter to start. Some dress up items and later intake, program other things.

Welcome Mav,

Dave Smith is a great dealership, I bought three Dodges from them them.
They have even reimbersed me for my plane tickets to pick up the vehicles.
GM wouldn't let them do invoice pricing when I bought my Camaro, just
MSRP. But they called me a couple weeks ago and said that they can
now do the invoice pricing, they quoted me $35,400 for a 2SS/RS.
Great prices. Let us know on this thread when you get back down here.
I go to RMCR in the Springs for my tuning and engine work, they do a great
job. They are a dealer for ARH headers, Eibach and Pfadt suspension
and Vortech as well as other superchargers.
