Just bought this: "HP Tuners Performance VCM Suite Professional GM Vehicles MPVI Pro 6021"

I get it tomorrow, so I will be getting to learn how to do all this. Going to take small baby steps but I hope in the end I can have a great tune on my car.

If you paid 550 and only got a single tune. ...the hp tuner setup is prob the best investment youve done even with all your current mods in my view. We used to use it back in the j-body scene especially with doing engine swaps...

cool to see its still around a decade later. I kinda got spoiled with a dodge and the diablosport trinity. Now i need to reinvest in another laptop

Could the voltage getting to the actuator be low so when it clicks on, the extra draw lowers the voltage even more, causing it to click off

this is why in the spring I'm going with a local tuner with HP tuners. hoping to get a better running smoother running car with a tune for MY car not a generic tune for all. only went with ipf cus I had the tuner already and wanted to get it running

Don't know, when the battery got recharged after letting the car run the clicking was louder, the lower the voltage the lower the sound. Might be something with the throttle body, the chances of both actuator solenoids going bad at the same time are pretty low. The throttle body will control both of them since it will change the cam angle based off the throttle body. I will remove the throttle body and clean it, see if that works.

I got my HP Tuner today, emailed Bill to get the 2.25 beta software to see if I can download my ECM.

Arno did e-mail me last night and removed the tune that caused all the problems with mine and created a new tune called V60C1C10B that has 3.91 gears.

Something definitely wrong with the throttle body, I left the battery disconnected for over a day and when I reconnected it, put the key to the run position it began clicking again. Also, the TC light is lit with a throttle body actuator code. Cleaning the throttle body now, see if that helps.

Bad throttle body wouldn't suprise me. I've seen quite a few issues with gm throttle bodies. Customer complaints when bringing those cars in is almost always the reduced engine power on the dic and no power. Hopefully thats causing alot of your problems. Cleaning never really seems to fix. Usually takes a replacement.

Found the reason for the throttle body problem, you can see where it is. I fixed the contact pin to touch the good surface and no more clicking and everything worked fine. Can't really reuse the throttle body though because that contact surface will break the pin again, have to get a new one.

Sucks too that it is a VMAX ported throttle body, so next year my runs will be without it. Don't think it will make a difference though because the throttle body wasn't enlarged to allow more air in.

Still waiting on HP Tuners to get me the Beta software so I can see if I can read my tune off the ECU.

Success, did an entire read of the IPF V60C1C10 tune on my car. I opened it up with HP Tuners 2.25 and saw the MAF frequencies and all.

Torque Management was set to 100% everywhere also. Will look at it more when I get home from work, did this during lunch.
