Mark of Excellence trivia, the logo have two different locations on the 2010 Camaro, Early Camaros had then near the front wheel well, as a running change they were moved back to make room for the mud flaps. If you do a search you should be able to find posts about installing mud flaps where the logo was in the way.

My Dad (who works for GM) said that there was EXTREME backlash from customers who did not want the chicklet on their new car. They saw it as a dealer sticker instead of a manufactuer badge.

GM stopped putting them on all production cars during calender year 2010

I believe the media story was that GM wanted to get away from "GM" identity and transition to focusing on specific brand identity. Especially since much of the general public has a bad taste for "old GM" when they went bankrupt.

Only having them on early build 2010 models makes it easier to tell who was willing to buy the car while GM was still the old GM.

I seem to remember the official GM position being that they wanted to stop promoting "GM" as a brand and let the individual core brands seem more independent. Getting rid of the GM logo was the first step towards that. The demise of "GM Goodwrench", now BrandX Certified Service, is another change that occurred along those same lines.

Correct. They also did away the GM Performance badging under the hood at the same time. So if you have the chicklet and the under hood badging you have a rare bird. I have both on Pumpkin.
