Yeah, I hear ya...I just love to go fast. Aside from my race car, this is the fastest car I've had and I know there's more in her. At the end of that night I figured out a great launch technique and REALLY wanted to keep going but I thought, well, I better put this one in my pocket and go home....you know the rest of the story. But really the biggest reason I'm staying stock is that I'm leaving for Korea in a couple months with a follow-on asignment overseas so the SS is going to be in storage for about 4 years!!...and I don't want to store her when she's broken. So for now I'm just going to drive and enjoy her till I get back.

Any of you Emerald coast guys have your car tuned? My headers should be in next week and I was looking for someone fairly close to tune it up for me.
I have considered just getting a tune and tuner from Jannetty racing. But I thought an actual dyno tune might be better and ceaper in the long run.

You will definitely get more power from the dyno tune, but cheaper?? I doubt that. The headers should give you between 50-60 horses with a decent tune so you will definitely notice a good difference. I chose the superchips tuner and it gave me roughly 15-20 HP...the headers gave me roughly 35 HP so if you do the math it's pretty close. There are several tuners in Fort Walton Beach and Crestview...as for the best?...probably just the one you trust...or maybe know someone who knows someone? Down in South Florida are supposed to be some of the best tuners in the country, but you get what you pay for. Maybe this didn't help you out but I just figured I'd throw my 2 cents in there. I do have a friend who had his done in Ft Walton and is happy with him...When I see him I will get the name/location and post the info on here.

I didn't get mine done around here....I went to Jacksonville. However, Ted Jannetty is one of the best, and can get pretty close with a tune by mail. You will have to do a little data logging to perfect it probably, but if you don't want to DRIVE to find a good tuner...Ted is probably worth the money.

XXX in pensacola tuned my blown vette. they use a loaded/road force dyno, so you get part-throttle tuning as well. it's $450, if i remember right, with update tunes somewhere around $200 if you change/add stuff down the road
