Well since everyone is getting selfish on this. Texas and California are #1, and #2 in Camaro sales. Why don't we have it in Los Angeles one year then Texas the next year. Of course I'm just joking on this. Hehe

Indianapolis or Nashville would be cool wid me.

For future reference, they are building a NASCAR track just on the outskirts of Branson, MO. Not sure when it will be done but it might be a good place to look at as it's right in the middle of the country. I know the peeps that own the Branson Airport which is 5000 ft long. 4000 ft to see how fast your car can get to and 1000 ft to slow it down. They already let me and my bros run our 6 camaros as a publicity stunt. Plus the country out here is stunning. There are some amazing roads to run on as well.

Kansas is about central to everyone..... Most all the tours or events like this wind up with an east coast or southeast bias and really don't care to much about people west of the Mississippi... If you want to be fair then you look at driving distances and you should give a thought to Canada as well.....

I am in Englishtown this weekend for NHRA Supernationals and the New Jersey Highway patrol are at the track making life miserable for everyone. They are idiots with nothing better to do ... they hate gear-heads here in New Jersey ... stay away !!!!

There definitely isn't any tracks around my area...heck I don't even know of any speed shops with dynos withing a 50 to 75 mile radius. :(

Just because it's closer to more members doesn't mean they will come to C5Fest. A lot of people near C5Fest 1 that didn't attend the first one and were whining when the second one wasn't in their backyard. I'm on the way to Cocoa Beach right now for the Hot Rod Power Tour, because I go where the event is, not complain that it isn't in my backyard. Follow the event, the road trip is half the fun....
What are you talkin about? I live in NC and I was at the first Fest, I also remember seeing way more license plates from East of the Mississippi than West. Then for the second Fest, it was the same sort of representation more people from the West showed up than East. Maybe 1% of the attendees are like you and go wherever the event is, but 99% of the people out there, don't have the time or money to spending an entire week driving for a 2 day event.

As for the people who are raising hell over the SE bias, again not sure what the hell you guys are talkin about. The first Fest wasn't envisioned to be as big or a national event, it just turned into something more and awesome! So to be fair they held in the West the second year, I don't see bias for either part of the country.

I am hoping the successive Fests will be held in a central location, so this sort of discussion will be moot.

JOPLIN. They could use the money and support. Unfortunately it sounds like not much there to see.

you can't please everyone all the time. simple as that.

We would like to attain maximum attendance at each Fest, but we know that not everyone can make it to each fest mostly due to location (which leads to requiring time off from work, money to travel, etc), and we understand that. We want to make each fest available to as many people as possible with the greatest compromise for location. But obviously, we can't please everyone each time.

the first Fest was (to an extent) a lucky fluke. what started out as a track day/meet and greet for the SE members, turned into what will be forever known as the Innagural Camaro5 Fest, setting the stage for future events.

All that being said, we want to find a place that will allow us to have as much driving/racing opportunities for everyone. We dont want to just have a big car show. And we've discussed hosting the fest in the same location year after year, and thats still a tentative option, however, we would need to find a place that is suitable for our (and the rest of the members') wants and needs before we would decide to "settle down".

right now, the rotation idea presents the best option as it allows members from all over the country to still attend at least one fest that is closer than others. so if you miss it one year, you can still attend the next year when its closer, (or the year after depending on location). or if you are like some of our members, you can afford (both time and money) to travel to every one each year, regardless of where it is held.
