We work 28 days on and 28 days off... which equates to 28 days on the rig, 2 days travel down here, 1 day travel home and so 31 and 25 is more accurate... I have two grown sons, one is playing professional baseball... in the Florida Marlins org, and the other is a senior in college.. My wife and I have one child at home... a 200 lb English Mastiff. Satchmo... names after Louis Armstrong, he of the big black cheeks... Love his music... My wife is "THE" athletic director at a Div II NCAA university... I drive a 2010 Camaro and ride a 2007 Harley... not at the same time of course... haven't figured out how to do that yet... I am being re-assigned to a different rig with a different crew change schedule and the bad part about that is I will miss the Camaro Fest... %^&$%&#$%$%^... but I am employed, and thats a good thing...

I tell her basically what she needs to pack for and how long and she does... We don't do this every hitch, but lots of times. It may be as simple as a night on the town or something as elaborate as a vacation or a trip to watch Jr. play baseball for a week... she makes plans for us as well... movies, over night away from the house etc... I go to lots of sporting events with her as well... Work stuff for her but I get to go along for the ride and the perks...

Also, I'm not a big phone talker, so we e-mail daily and then about twice a hitch, i call and we treat those as special times... again not the routine. She has the number where if it's an emergency she can call the rig, but again. I'm in Brazil.... so... she is a strong independant woman which I like that about her...Not at all high maintenance... I'm probably more high manitenance than she is... lol.... we really get along well... it's cool being married to my best friend as well...
