The anticipation grows.
![]() I got a nice pile at my dads shop. Bellhousing, shifter, deep trans pan, flex plate, fuel pump, FPCM, supercharger, injectors and I have some parts for my truck too. I kinda doubt I get done with everything by spring time. d Anyone ever tune their own vehicles? Im on the fence about buying a tuner and doing it myself. |

My pile is spread all over the place! Axles are at DSS, ZL1 toe links in a box in my truck, Quantum brake ducts in a box on my hood, Pedders 32 mm FE4 bar, LCA's, and drop links laying on the floor in the garage! I actually look forward to winter storage a little, it gives us a good excuse to jack it up and tear it down for upgrades! LOL!

I'm doing all my work in the garage so the snow doesn't matter. I got it stored just in time for the crappy weather, which was 2 weeks earlier this year!

Is a torque wrench needed for the headers? No one around here has one

Kinda. 18 ft lbs is "snug". Just snug them up and then do it again after some heat cycles.

Start from the center bolts and work out the end bolts. It's kinda tough to get a torque wrench on some of the bolts so snug is good just don't over tighten!

The only place that has one is Ace, and they're crazy if they think I'll spend $150 on it.

I have always used a 1/4" drive ratchet to tighten my header bolts. Just run them up to snug and recheck after a few heat cycles. I have never found one loose.

Can someone please tell me what kind of gasket material will be good for use between the intake manifold and throttle body? I'm gonna get some so I can make my own gasket for the Power Wedge. If anyone knows then I'd appreciate it. Something thick but not too thick. Thanks guys.

I would use intake gasket material and avoid cork.
