A lot of people do it after 500 miles to get all the break in metal out.

I haven't done mine either. I'm bad about procrastinating. I can get amsoil cheap. I'm gonna do tranny and diff. I can get you a shipped price if you want.

I changed my fluid to Royal Purple, and used the GM friction modifier (even though RP says it has enough mixed in with it) because I heard slight howling in my rear end after switching. I'm not big on Royal Purple, but their diff fluid is pretty good.

I've heard a lot go good about RP. I was thinking about using that for my transmission and I have it in my Power Steering and seems to be good.

Just my advice, I would use Redline D4 ATF for your tranny fluid. That stuff is gold. Probably a few shifts after you change to that fluid, you will notice a complete difference in your shifts.
