It is the RS so therefore the tail lights are a little darker!

Battery Charging

Hey Guys,
I dug the SS out of the basement where it's been staying cool during this heat wave. It's been a month since it has been run, and I ran the battery down doing various things. Today it went into battery save mode. It started although the battery was really weak. The car posted a message on the DIC like 2 keys programmed. I hope nothing changed with the keys.

I want to put a battery charger on it. Anyone know if there are any special procedures to charging these cars? Charge from the engine bay or trunk?

Any help will be appreciated. Any criticism will be filed away for future reference...

To start with criticism, darn you for keeping it on a cool place where the heat cant get to it! Oh wait, that's a good thing...

I think a trickle charger or something similar is what you'll want. Joe has one I think so he should be able to give you good input.

Chris, I would just hook the charger up to the battery itself! Just to be on the safe side!

Well guy's the 1LE dream is over lmao. I have been driving a Volt for 2 weeks now doing some research on it. I am going to invest in one soon. This is one amazing car, haven't had to fill the car up yet and it's been almost 1000 miles. I can charge it using any standard plug. So I am a believer!!!

JT and I checked a Volt out at Thorton Chevy and it was pretty cool not gonna lie. Also, my dad would have one but his commute is too far for the electricity so it wouldn't quite be worthwhile. But I won't be holding it against you.

Yeah, I just hate unloading the trunk. But did it anyway, and it's charging up now.

Didnt want to unhook the battery cables because it had no codes and was in ready mode for emissions testing.

Yes but the fact that every day my dads volt would still use at least some gas wasn't enough for him to switch.

Which is a good thing cause now he's considering a ZL1, hahaha

I you do a lot of city driving the volt is brilliant.

Highway miles, not so much. It works fine of course, but long distance isnt its speciality I would say.

What county do you live in That has emissions? Jackson don't, Barrow not sure! So it's either Hall or Gwinnett!
