Had a lot to add to that thread and was sad to see it closed.

For ABS I challenge anyone to brake in a shorter distance including dry pavement. I've seen tests with famous drivers and they were about equal.

If I'm not mistaken ABS and ESC are required BY LAW on all motor vehicles. Check FMVSS 105 and 126.

Statistics show ESC is a huge benefit for roll over mitigation.

The government has clear requirements on turning these features off. This is not a GM edict it is from the government.

Kudos to anyone who can out drive and outbrake the sensors and electrons but from what I know those guys get paid to do it.

Well... it's one thing to try to out brake ABS on a test bed..... it's a WHOLE nuther animal when when someone spins out right in front of you, especially on slick roads.

When computer control first hit F1, Ayrton Senna accused them of cheating... and they were.

I may have only been driving for just over 10 years now but i have learned a few things.

1. When pushing a car (or truck most times in my case) to the edge, it doesn't take long to go over and lose control.

2. When not pushing the car (or truck most times in my case) to the edge, it doesn't take long for something to happen and lose control.

I try to always keep these in mind and it helps me remember to buckle up and be alert because too many people won't be.

Well I think in some cases this is simply folks soooo convinced of their own skills and equally ignorant of the speed and capability of the technology that they prove it to them selves by pushing the button and. Omplaining that they are forced to do so.

GMs algorithms are so good especially on the performance. Ads you really have to on the edge to know they are even there and when and if you have the nannies invading you have a lot of other problems.

The nannies will never cause you a problem. It will help you prevent one.
