Where's the best place to get a set of heads? I'm looking at the PRC 260cc set from tsp. also what all will I need as far as a new set of pushrods, valves, and springs? I'm sure I can use the same springs I bought with the cam install, but not sure about everything else?
Or would it be better to send mine in and get them ported?

You have a few options, just depends on how much you want to spend on Heads. My PRC 255's cost roughly 2000$, and I opted to not have their Spring kit. I'm sure Zeke and 1,000 others will say the same thing I'm about to say : USE BTR Springs, and nothing else.

Your heads (if you choose to get some aftermarket) will come with valves. Whether you want the lightweight valves, or the OEM GM valves, that's up to you. I have the GM valves. Pushrods I would also recommend getting them from Brian Tooley.

You also have the option of sending your Factory heads to Advanced Induction, WCCH, or other places to have them ported. The only problem with the factory heads, is the deck height of the heads doesn't allow them to be milled much. My aftermarket heads can be milled all the way down to 64cc, which can give you a nice bump in your compression ratio if you're staying N/A.

The cheapest option?

1. buy a second set of LS3 heads and send them off to have them ported/polished. They shouldn't cost you more than 600$

2. Send your heads of to get the same treatment, but your downtime will increase, because that's your only set

Keep in mind, I made 498/446 with my combo, and my cam isn't big by any means, and my heads were only milled 66cc. 64cc, a bigger cam, and no cats would have put me in the 510-515 rwhp range. I also had VERY low dyno numbers for a bolt on LS3 before the cam and heads. Only made 405/399, so 93 rwhp and 47 tq is a pretty good gain, and some of that came from the heads.

So I'm looking at SLP SC vs Whipple. Is the lower IAT really worth the Whipple premium? I plan on running conservative boost with stock bottom end.

It all depends on what you plan on doing with it. I will say that most people start off saying they plan to run conservative boost and end up pushing the edge, after a couple months. HP is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE. There's no such thing as enough HP. That being said, If you're willing to spend the $6k+ on a magnacharger, spend the extra for the Whipple. You might even want to look at the centri's as well. Vortech, PC, and ECS don't suffer from heatsoak with their massive intercoolers and are easily upgraded. You won't get 450 tq by 1800rpm but unless you have LOTS of suspension mods and slicks, you'll just blow your wheels off. The Centri's are also a little easier on the drivetrain. The ECS has a nice offering that gets you higher tq sooner with their unique setup. Just something else to think about.

Where are the best prices for Axle back exhausts? I'm looking at either the SLP Loudmouth or the Magnaflow #16528. thanks!
