So it looks like we are about three weeks away from my motor being completed... They have the heads in hand but are waiting for the rocker arms...

In the meantime, ERL is working on the fire ring like work they are doing on this motor... It's not "fire ringing" but it's the same effect...it works with the copper heads gaskets...

Since you're into building these huge cars, I'm sure you have good knowledge about internals. I want to put a cam/tune on my car, stock everything else and what ever essentials i have to upgrade with the cam… I've talked to you before… Not about this though… What's your personal favorite cam? I like what i see from comp, but I'm sure there are better.

Corey just installed a Lingenfelter GT12 in a 1LE, I'll ask the owner how he likes it...

I used to run a GT9 but it was a boosted application... I'll check with Corey and find out if he has any personal favorites...

I've ran my current engine n/a with a GT9 for a short period.

It's a relatively mild cam, just aggressive lobes.

ie totally smooth idle, relatively easy emissions if you have tests to pass, no big surges or power band type of thing.

Maybe not for all, as there will definitely be better power makers out there. But if you need smooth and low emissions, then it works well.
Some will debate valve spring life though

n/a, YSi and now twin turbo, I've spun mine to around 7k with relative ease, although seems best shift is around 6700rpm.
Never been dyno'd though

With hindsight, one of their GT11 or similar would probably be a better all rounder

Agreed, I ran it for my first turbo iteration... It worked well. With proper springs, it should last a long time. The 121 LSA helped keep the idle tame...

Good advice above

I am running the NightFury cam from lethal, its a great N/A cam IMO. I believe they also use cam motion cores now since there have been some issues with comp cams quality lateley.

I see you are in MS, they are in Lafayette, LA too. Tons of good shops in the south, no reason why you shouldnt get with one of the reputable ones and talk about a build, they will spec anything you want.

I'd have to take it to someone or let one of yall tell me what I need, I know nothing about internals or much about engines. I can tell you have much hp/tq on just about any car you want to know, it's specs or how much it cost, etc stuff like that, but upgrading, that's a foreign language to me. It says something about a 660 chain and 7.400 rod length 819.00 package, is that right for l99?

Its best to call them to get it all right. They will most likely give you 7.425 rods with the package. They have proven to be the right length with that cam.

Ok, so, while I haven't seen them in person, YET.... I'll just leave these here for your viewing pleasure.... Corey and Rob of Henderson Performance Technology decided to surprise me with this little bit of treatment.... I believe the final result is well worth the effort... Simple beautiful... Too bad most of the system is hidden, but it's now well protected too.... This is all ceramic coating... It'll stand up to the heat and road grime...

That's some fancy parts ya got there. I'd be pissed if they got dirty if they were on my car, I'd probably never start the car.
