I drive mine in the winter in the awful roads. I don't want to subject it to that, but for me it beats the alternatives. I could pay more to have a "beater" that I don't want to drive just to save my Camaro. Personally I would rather have that extra money and driveway space and not have to drive a penalty box all winter. I bought the Camaro as a car to be driven and enjoyed, not an investment, show car, or shrine.

Not having to buy winter tires is the reason why I'll always live in CenTex instead of anywhere else. We get cold here, and sometimes snow but it won't ever cause us to miss more than 1-2 days of work, IF THAT!
As far as there being a bunch of RS's out there, there might be a bunch and that's because GM knows that 80% of Americans are all about appearances; myself included. So GM knows that if they were to stock up their lots with RS Camaros than lots of Americans in the market for a new car will end up buying it over a non-RS. Think of it this way, if someone sees an RS Camaro and then they see a non-RS Camaro, which one will they buy? The one that doesn't look as appealing as the RS or the RS? Majority of car buyers aren't buying cars to modify them to their liking, they want to buy them already to their liking. |

Dfault. thanks. i didnt realize that most peeps want rs. I just thought dealers ordered that way for markup and make more. again i have avoided rs up to this point cause of the tires. that may seem silly to some but i dint want to spend 35 k and then buy tires or rim in a month. i want some firm of practical even if a vert camaro

Sounds like you really don't want the RS. If that's the case I'd use that to bargain with the dealer. Have them find you a non RS, put all season tires on an RS, or knock enough off the price to allow you to get different tires.

Not having to worry about buying tires for the winter is one of the advantages of living in CenTex and is one of the good points to why I don't ever want to leave this area. I don't live near family and that's a big thing for me, and I have some friends here that I don't find myself being too close to, but close enough to do social things with them. I don't live near family because I don't like unexpected visits from them, and because I'm not very family oriented. |

If you're strictly down to these 2 specific 2LT's, I'd opt for the non-RS WITH navigation. Otherwise, I'd shop around. There are still plenty of new '12's out there in the color you'd really like, with nav - with or without the RS package. You're experienced enough to know not to "settle" for something you really don't want.
