yes and no. a lot of diesels are loud, but there are plenty more that are nice and quiet. europe's been running diesels for years in their cars. not to mention the BMW diesels and other high end cars that run diesel. I dont hear any of them complaining about noise....lol

worried about noise in a desiel most of them arnt noisy anymore due to regulations and keep in mind thats an old 6.5 which is noisy like the old 12valves. throw a new crate desiel and the noise is cut down a ton. too noisy to drive ha just lets you know you have desiel power. awsome car though

I see the comments and First want to say Thank You.

The build took alot of off the wall thinking and pure dedication.

Update:

Car is STILL running top notch, adjusted shift points, max RPM, added some timing and tried some B20 Biodiesel. Less smoke, more power, and the smell of French Fries. MmmmMmm....

As a european I'm probably expected to scream "diesel FTW", but NO

Come on, guys, muscle/pony car with a diesel engine? It just feels... wrong. These cars were never about MPG, right?

They are about power, and the right diesel engine in the right hands makes a SH!T TONE of it

you can scream whatever you want.

the way I look at it, if it makes more power, faster, and more reliable than a regular gasoline engine, im all for it. esp when it can get the MPG as well

For Sale

If anyone is really interested in a fully hand built 4th Gen Diesel Camaro our team here at LMS is ready to suit you. The only thing holding me back from building more is investment$$$$.

The owner would receive a one of a kind car. Full build sheet, build pictures, and of course a powertrain warranty. Every detail documented.

The car would be set up similarly to the prototype you see here. However, there are options for the buyer.

A donor drivetrain and donor 4th Gen Camaro/Firebird will be hand selected to use for the project. Or if price isn't a concern to the buyer. A brand new GM crate 6.5L Diesel can be used, along with a new 4L80E transmission. Again, many options.

I as the owner of LMS, am very proud of my accomplishment. Now, since gaining the skills throughout the years as a car builder, am confident LMS can provide a very dependable Diesel powered F-body.

Time frame for completing one will be 4 months with the workforce we have now.

Why? It is my dream to provide a different option in the American Muscle scene. This is how I decided to go about that.

There are many innovations already implanted into the current prototype Diesel Camaro. More can be added. Price is the only limit to your options.

I am a young, honest businessman who is looking to fulfill a dream, while wholeheartedly satisfying my customers.

If you have any questions, email me at Rafedial1@hotmail.com

For a duplicate of this prototype....Starting PRICE $25,000

Cody Loeser

Not that I can afford to buy any car right now, let alone a custom hand-built diesel Camaro, but could a T56 manual transmission handle that power?

Cody Loeser

say I can get the 4l80E and the rolling chassis, how much is the 6.5L running for price?

A running take-out engine, or a new (not-reman) longblock?

I assume you meant the latter. Heath Diesel, Kennedy Diesel, and Peninsular Engines offer well built 6.5L engines.

Longblock-$4500-6500 depending on options and Injection Pump. Forged cranks, custom camshaft profiles, ported heads. many options.

Update: Bill Heath's Twin Turbo 6.5L powered truck set a world record pass at Bonneville flats. 153 mph!!!

first off, noice pass at Bonneville.

second, either/or for the motor. I honestly wish GM would get the 4.5L moving out the door.

I might actually be able to get a hold of a running 6.5L from a friend of mine who's brother just rolled his truck.

what im really asking for is if you have a plan for basic setups for people to price.

say stock engine/trans + install = $XXXX.XX
stock engine/trans + turbo upgrade + install = $XXXX.XX

granted there will be variables for internal changes and valvetrain/head combos, but more of a general area for potential customers to have a mindset of how much it will cost.

Had to... Come on guys. At least consider the thought of this. Most fuel efficient car in GM's lineup. While still packing a huge punch in HP & Torque
