Please forgive my lack of knowledge here, but why are horsepower and torque exclusive to one another?
I know it isn't the case, but it just makes sense to me that an engine should be able to put out torque commensurate to it's horsepower. What makes one engine with less horsepower have more torque than an engine with more horsepower?

Wow, not a simple answer...

I will have to defer that to an engine builder! LOL...

Got this from http://www.zeroto60times.com/Saturn-...ph-Times.html:

Saturn Sky Sports Car 0 to 60 mph and Quarter Mile Times
2007 Saturn Sky 0-60 mph 7.2 Quarter mile 15.7
2007 Saturn Sky Redline 0-60 mph 5.1 1 Quarter mile 4.0

I guess you guys weren't kiddin'...look at the 1/4 time for the redline!! (I know, just a typo)

Even a bone stock redline will pull away from the v6 camaro, hard.

Right, I forgot there's no beating a Saturn. This one is modded and it only manages 14.6

Without the turbo upgrade, the Sky Redline is nothing special.
Red Line 2.0 L LNF I4 260 hp (194 kW) 260 lb·ft (353 N·m)

All it has going for it is it's light weight.

Here's a few more of one with the turbo upgrade. Breaks into the 13's on one run, but also some 14's:

The LNF is NO joke! It also comes in the later years of the Cobalt SS. We have a 2011 Camaro SS and a 2009 Cobalt SS. Stock for stock was pretty close, with the Camaro prevailing in the top end. however once we tuned the Cobalt, the Camaro had no chance! It took Full exhaust, Airaid intake and an HP tune to become faster again! Of course this is at a very high altitude. F/I cars are not effected as much by altitude.

Uh huh, try reading some of the comments, "yep, this was one of my first times at the track with this car and still playing around with the settings. I've since improved greatly and have run low 13's like you predicted. I have a couple 13.5's on video."

The car is capable of mid 13s stock and will walk a v6 camaro hard. Sorry, that's a fact. I can post videos of v6 camaros running 15s and 16s. That doesn't make it the norm.

It's not all about going in a straight line. One person has a nice Camaro and the other has a Saturn Sky, Miata looking car. I'd take the Camaro any day over that Sky.

IMO

Uh this is a Camaro forum, so if the Saturn gives you such a hard on, great, but we don't wanna hear about it here. There are cars faster than your SS, too.

I hope the Redline is faster than an 800lb heavier, NA V6—it's running 20 God D!%# pounds of boost. And in the videos, it NOT faster. So get over that. I'm sure better times could be had with a good driver, but the way you guys are going on about this, you'd think it's a supercar or something.
