And why NOT!!
Good luck and many congrats! I wish I had parents like that, you must have done some serious studying to earn that. Well done. Anyone that bags on you are just old farts with a jealous streak. LOL!!

This isn't a thread to bash on age. Either congratulate or get out. No reason in starting pointless drama.

I got my 2LT/RS as a graduation gift for getting top marks in high school. Ever since me and my brother were 3, we were told that if we did well in school, we'd get the car we wanted when we were 18. Brother turned 18, got an 05 stang and hes going off to med school this year (graudates Life Science in May). Ever since i was 4, i wanted a Camaro, ordered mine in Oct 08, got her in June 09. I got good marks, following the path to becoming a Police Officer (Biggest dream i have ever had, bigger then the Camaro and I was crazy for Camaro and cars, could tell you how an engine works at 5 years old, drove stick by 9)
Its not soo easy as people think. The Camaro was a gift, but i have to pay insurance and gas. My insurance alone is $615 a month, thats more then the car payments! We have to pay the insurance because it motivates us to drive safe, imagine getting a ticket when your insurance is $615 a month! I have always wanted to become a Police Officer so i am alot more responsible then i would be if i had plans of being something else. All in all, congrats to the Op for his gift, take care of it and drive safe. Those who deserve a Camaro, will be rewarded. If that means you have to wait, so be it, you WILL get your Camaro someday and you will love it

I just spent 10 mins reading thru these posts and all I can say. Good luck to the 17 yr old and hope his parents have some good insurance. Having a 17yr old with a new license here also, Let me just say he wont be getting a car for at least a year or 2. Plus it wont be a new camaro. In the original post he says he worked really hard and it payed off. What did he work hard at? School?
