Yellow with Black Rally Stripes. She said she picked it up in a little shop next to a deli at lunch today! And, all of a sudden it occured to me that I love this car! I've waited for this car for 3 years! I can't give up now! Not after all of the time I've put into the research of this car, and countless hours on here everyday!

Sometimes people say they get signs of what to do, and me being a Born-Again Christian i truly believe in those things! And, tonight when she came home I knew it was a sign, and the answer to my question of what to do!

Just thought I would share, even though according to some noone cares!

Chevy,

Bring me my Camaro SS
Glad to hear that. Sorry that some people got all bent out of shape. You have to learn though not to take things personally on here sometimes. And others need to learn to curb their fingers a little bit! It's all good though. We really do care.

I stumbled across this thread very late in the list of postings. Truly sorry to hear you had so many problems with your Vette.

Seeing as you are from New York, I have only one question: Would you have benefioted from pursuing mediation or replacement under your State's Lemon Laws?

I would have pushed that first before I would have dumped the car. You may very well end up with a similar situation with the Niissan. One never knows.

Eitehr way Good Luck with your Decisions.

My only disappointment is that you are looking at goign with Nissan instead of one a vehicle from one of the Detroit Three. But, that's a personal decision.,

I WAITED 3 YEARS FOR THIS CAR TO COME OUT. IM NUMBER 2 OUT OF 15 ORDERED AT MY DEALER ,I WAS NUMBER 3 BUT SOMEONE BEFORE ME CANCELLED(THANKS!) AND IT MOVED ME UP 1. I DONT CARE WHEN I GET IT BUT WHEN THE DAY COMES AND I GO PICK IT UP BELIEVE ME IT WILL ALL BE WORTH IT. ANYONE WHO CANCELLS NOW EITHER REALLY DOESN'T WANT IT OR THEY HAD A LIFE CHANGING INCIDENT(LOST JOB,KID,DIVORICE). IN THE END IF YOU REALLY WANT THE CAR THEN YOU WAIT.

Posted this as a reply in another thread but it fits well here too...

People complain that the process is taking too long and a year from order to production is ridiculous... Got some news for ya...

When they redesign any car- even a current one- it's a long process. While they were rolling out 07 and 08 and now, 09 Equinoxes (Equinoi ?) they were designing the "new 10". Hell, they just rolled it out in Detroit. You think that happened overnight? If there were problems in the redo, they'd be making the same vehicle in 2010 that they made in 08 and the new Equinox would have been released later as a 2011 and we wouldn't know or care.

Here's the crux of the situation as I see it. They plan on putting out a 2010 Camaro early during the 2009 model year, have some issues, and people complain that they (actually only the last of the 11k) won't get a pre-ordered vehicle until October 09 when every other 2010 on the market is FIRST released. Personally, yes, because of the pre-order system that CHEVY, not us, not the dealers, put into place, I think ordering on Oct 13th should carry more weight than ordering last week. I don't care if someone who ordered on Oct 13th is #12 at their dealer and the guy last week is #2 at his. The October order should be built first. That's where a lot of this animosity is growing from- and well founded. My opinion.

Your old lady sounds like a keeper to me friend! She likes it and she likes it most in a yellow badass Camaro 2SS with black stripes! GO GET HER DONE and stay of the ledge life is too short to stress. This car will be worth the wait and I for one am glad you are sticking with us.

I just picked up a G8 GT for a great price, it will be a happy and sad day at the same time. I hopefully will pick up a used Camaro sometime in the future.

How strange. You come in here whining and moaning and as soon as you realize that nobody wants to hear your sob story, you have a sudden and complete change of faith due to divine intervention. Bull.

For anybody who thinks a re-manned transmission is just an old used one, it isn't. It may be an older case but every single internal part is brand new. Other than a few non-moving or parts of lesser importance. A new transmission would have been installed at no cost to you, the rear end would of course be re-aligned (if you were such a transmission specialist you would know that) to factory specifications. It wouldn't be "all over the road".

Bologna on you. Bologna on me. Bologna on this entire thread.

#1 - Yes Chevy's ordering system is extemely outdated and not customer friendly, particularly when it comes to pre-orders like this. It's something many manufacturers struggle with, one of these days they'll get caught up to the 21st century (I predict 2105 but I'm an optimist ).

#2 - To the OP, your frustration is somewhat understandable and your dealer did mess up if they promised a May delivery. Either way I don't really care if you're buying a Camaro, a Kia or a Ferrari there's really no reason act quite so fruity over any pre-order car.

My humble on the trans, it’s all in the approach, how the argument is crafted and how you deliver it. I see all the elements needed possessed by you that would make it an easy decision by GM to deliver you a new Vette and they take on the responsibility of putting in the reman trans that is if they are confident in the repair.

First and foremost, you would end up with a car that had a major repair done to it. Then you decide to sell it in a year or so, the fact that the trans was repaired/replaced, may make it tougher to sell since people that buy those kinds of cars scrutinize that to the tenth degree. Carfax redflag.

Second, it sounds like you have bought many Vetts from GM, that in itself is a statement of your commitment to that platform and a great position to be in as a leverage point.

Lastly, when you disassemble something such as this, in a manner not opposite of how it was assembled, you risk assembly issues in the repair. The worst of the worst, it being a manual trans is misalignment of the trans to the bell house/engine block. You prematurely wear out clutches, the input shaft bearings are loaded in a manner unintended by design. You can have problems with shifting right away or later on because of the misalignment. It’s your car not the mechanics. Those guys are given X amount of time to replace that part, anything over, is them losing money.

Camaro love, isn't it grand.
