I think it costs anywhere from 390 to 450 to get the stripes done from GM. CHARGE extra and do them right Scott. It's an option, its not raising the base price.

I can UNDERSTAND why you did the front hood stripes short because of the mailslot, that could get "dicey" while installing.
But the REAR spoiler is a no brainer, it should go over the spoiler for sure. A guy driving behind you don't even see that the car is striped unless hes driving a bus, LOL

Yeah, I'm gonna agree. Optional items shouldn't have cost as a REAL consideration. I mean the short tube headers are a grand for crying out loud.

Edited to add this pic of a 68'. This is what I'd expect my dovetail spoiler stripes to look like:

Bobby -- I understand your passion -- but not everyone agrees with you......

THEREFORE -- you can put them on as you see fit.

(...by the way -- go look at a 97 Anniversary Z28....note the stripes are not visible from the back as you drive up to the car......)

The way stripes have been done in the past is way more varied than I knew. Here are some other styles http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...455#post255455

Bobby,

Now your concerns have been heard by someone we all consider to be one of the most passionate insiders on the camaro project. He has made his and GM's position on this topic known and explained why.

Arguing the point isn't going to do anyone any good. So it's time to agree to disagree and move on.

Please understand that Scott and John have been very clear about the fact that the stripes won't be changing anytime soon.

The system worked. Those that aren't happy with the stripes have been heard by those at GM. What GM chooses to do is up to them. Let them make what is the best decision and live with it.

Everyone's cooperation is greatly appreciated.

I like over the spoiler. but prefer to have it go all the way down to the bottom of the front & rear bumpers.

The catalog lists 2 part numbers for a r/end spoiler upper stripe in gray (B7W) and
white (B7X) for vehicles that have option code D80 (rear spoiler). the r/end lower stripe says part of kit1 body stripe kit but no part number. i don't know if those are going to be sold separate or not.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of having the rally stripes end at the top of the spoiler either, however, that's ok with me. Anyways, since I'm planning on having the Dove Tail installed, as far as I can see, I will be going with after market stripes anyways... which of course will be wider and longer than the factory offered too. Hey, GM can't afford to offer 10 different variations either just to satisfy everyones personal tastes... so they simply do what they deem is best and as for the rest... that is what the aftermarket companies are for!

My choices are for the extended left side stripes over the right side factory options. ( Pictured Below )

Just for everyone's information. When you have stripes painted on and want them embedded in the clear coat .wherever the stripes touch that WHOLE body part has to be cleared .So if they want them to extend past the hood that whole fron nose has to be cleared and that jumps the price up even more.By them just doing the hood in the front has greatly reduced my price when having them paint it.Either way they choose to do it is fine with me because it will be painted the in the same way it comes factory, but with the way GM has decided to do them has helped my budget as well.

STRIPE ANSWER:

The stripe over the spoiler was a very early concept. I have confirmed the stripes stopping on the spoiler is correct.
