I was thinking of getting a V6 since i drive 60 miles a day round trip to work. I also want the SS though since I love that V8 sound. I just can't stand exhausts for the V6 that make it sound like a ricer ya know.

The rear diffuser that you're seeing is actually part of the factory GM ground effects kit. You can order it as an option on your ride!

Check insurance rates as well. I have found that Mustangs are cheaper to insure not sure why. Again Drive both. If you post the same question on a Mustang site they will push you to the other side. You really need to spend time in both. If you can afford to go out and rent a 2011 V6 Camaro and a 2011V6 Mustang for a day each back to back. Or go from one dealer to the other and park both cars side by side.

Camaro is a great looking car and drives very nice. It just did not fit me well. I spent a day in one and never got the seats and mirrors just right for me. I got in a 2010 Mustang and spent 5 minutes to adjust things and never moved them again. The Mustang fit me very well and I could drive it very hard and not worry about anything but how much fun I was having. I ordered a 2011 that same day. My car is just for fun and not a DD I think the Camaro is a more compliant car that may be a little softer for day to day driving.

As for a Mustang being a chicks car, well that,s how I met my wife. I had a Z28 and she had a Mustang. Nothing hotter than a hot chick in a red Mustang with a stick.

Ive test driven a 2011 5.0, but to me it just doidnt seem to shift right. It was a 6-speed manual. Maybe im just used to my 5-speed s10 i dont know.

Im going to test out a camaro ss 6-manual tomorrow. Ill let yall know what I think. I said i made my mind up about the camaro, BUT unfortunately no matter how much I like the camaro, without test driving it, i cant make an honest decision.

They all shift very stiff when new, needs a gentle break in to last a long time and shift easy.

I test drove the 11 Mustang GT($37,500), 11 Camaro SS($38,500) & 10 Challenger SRT8($37,000 after $8,000 discount off MSRP) within 2hr of each other. Looks is a personal choice so buy to impress yourself not others. I like the looks of all 3 except the ugly butt of the Mustang.

For me the hype of the new 5.0 in the Mustang turned into disapointment on the test drives. I drove both the auto & the manual. The 5.0 is a beast in the upper rpms but lackluster as a daily driver. Drive it like you stole it & it is the fastest(manual) & most nimble of the 3. Below 3,000 rpms the 10 Mustang GT with the 4.6 actually has more power than the 11 Mustang GT with the 5.0.

The Camaro SS had the most power down low but runs out of power too soon. I rented a Camaro for a week & had no issues with the blind spots, that's what the side mirrors are for. I didn't like how low you sit in the car compared to the top of the door and it was hard to see the speedo. The HUD for 2011 Camaro fixed that issue. I thought the interior in the Camaro was a bit nicer than the Mustang.

What I've found people either love or hate the look of the new Camaro. What grabs your eye more, a Mustang or a Camaro when one goes by?

How much time at the track do you plan on driving your car? Mustang is a better track car but the Camaro is a better street car.

The Mustang is smaller so it's easier to park if that matters.

V6 or V8? If the tones of the exhaust matters don't settle for the V6. You will regret it. If not, the V6s are faster than most of the previous V8s, handle better & get better MPG.

I ended up buying my wife a new 10 Mustang GT ($9,250 off MSRP) that was $5K cheaper than the 11 Mustang V6s on the lot.
I ended up buying myself a new 10 Challenger SRT8 which ended up being alot faster than I thought they were do to all the antihype. My best stock 1/4 was 12.89@107.5.

What I took away from that: in order to sell a 2010 GT or 2010 SRT8 you must take $8,000+ off MSRP. If they won't sell...give them away??

J/K that's a beautiful Challenger in your sig and an exceptional price.
