The confusion was that I asked for employee pricing and got the number noted above.

I re-read my email, and was pretty obvious what I was asking for.

Then again, we all make mistakes.

That's what I am trying to tell you- there is currently no hard number in the Chevy pricing system for the discount pricing. All the dealer(s) can do is commit to giving you the GMS pricing (whatever it ends up being) if you indeed qualify for it. It will be a hard number; there is no negotiating it- on your end or theirs. They can not quote you $XXX at this time- they don't have the information. You expect them to go off some sheet we're not even supposed to have seen? I wouldn't.

I didn't get a "number" when I signed, just the price "over invoice". I really don't give a crap what actual invoice is at this point. I know it's cheaper than MSRP.

I'm not trying to be adversarial my friend. I'm simply trying to explain that the dealers can not give anyone information they do not have in their system. All they can do is commit to a reference price; like a lot of us originally did last year when we signed "at MSRP" not having any clue what that was going to be. It's no different than signing "at GMS" or "$500 over invoice" now.

Was not taking anything as adversarial at all..

My original concern was nothing other than

Ah nevermind.. The horse is dead.

I had emailed Steve at Basil when I saw this thread. I am 5 of 7 where I first ordered my car back in late October. I worked with Steve over the phone yesterday and today. Steve seemed to be a straight up kind of guy so I ended up ordering from him today. He gave me in writing $500 over dealer invoice, and that the $1,000.00 deposit was fully refundable. He also emailed me the completed order workbench within 2 hours of me giving him my CC card number. He is going to pick me up at the airport when the car arrives and told me to call him anytime I need or wanted to know anything. He also said he would let me know the status of the car as quickly as possible. He also said I was #6 in line overall and #4 in line for the SS V8, he said he had a total allocation of 31 camaros. Again after 4 phone calls with him, I got to say he very much seems like a good guy to work with. If you are considering doing this give him a call I am sure you will agree with me on this.

CONSENSUS UPDATE

3 in the consensus for Basil.

As stated in the other threads it is unknown at this point what the V8/V6 mix will be for the three vehicles.
Actually, I think that's pretty good. 10% filled first round. I only expect it will go up from there as time goes on.

p.s. for those trying to contact Steve, he doesn't work on Fridays. I believe he's in tomorrow though. Just an FYI.

Advertising

It has come to my attention (and many others) that there is an advertising fee associated with invoice pricing that quite honestly I had no clue about. Here's what I know so far to help clear the issue. Dealers please chime in and correct me where I am wrong:

The following is written at the bottom of the first post in the pricing sticky here at C5. I never read down that far, nor did most of us apparently.

EDIT: Information obtained from dealers advised Camaro5 that these prices DO NOT include a 1.5% advertisement fee which is included as dealer cost and is paid by the dealer, but passed on to the consumer. Include this in your price as well, as the consumer does pay this fee. ~Mods...

ref-> http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...10&postcount=1

There are dealers here that say the percentage varies from 1.5-2% apparently depending on what advertising plan the dealers use from GM.

If you have GMS/GSU, the ad fee is reimbursed to the dealer by GM ; aka, you do not have to pay it. This applies only to us "500 over invoice" guys.

That's the long and short of it for the moment... I will update as new or corrected info is available.

I agree (of course I'm biased). Wouldn't it be nice to have that be part of the "early order R6P" designation? Scott ? Cheryl ?

I emailed him the day this was posted and have not gotten a response. Is it too late to keep calling by phone to get in on this? I'm guaranteed MSRP in writing at my local dealer at this time. But Buffalo is only a 4 hour drive....
