So if I do order one of these online, where in the order process do you specify brake light or not? Or specifiy the orange stitching? Is it during checkout after registration? You can't specify these things when adding to the shopping cart. I have a 2012 vert on order. I assume these will fit the 2012s, right?

I'm a P.I.T.A. to deal with if things aren't going smoothly- I litterally called/messaged Scott EVERY day. But today I got pix of the box and shipping label, so it looks like I'm good to go! Will post pix upon install!

Ill do a more detailed thread once its installed (after my GM drama subsides)
But for the time being- IT'S HERE!!!!! My Revolutions DT sport bar arrived today, and looks GREAT! Install looks simple and the covering/stitch looks great! As for service; which was my biggest fear about Revolutions, I worked directly with Scott via PM and telephone. I expressed my concern over my last experience and rumors id heard... although there was about. 5 day delay overall, the service really was good. I bugged poor Scott so much he personally called me to give me the tracking number once it shipped, lol! Everything looks good, so as soon as (if ever) my car comes back from service, ill install and post pics! Thanks Scott and Revolutions!

Finally installed!
From reading the thread- it sounds like Coog's install went a little better than mine- the angles seem lust slightly off and the rear of the bar is pushing into the trim just enough to feel, while the front is raised (particularily on the passenger side) about 1/8"... also- good clearance everywhere except the rear outside, about 6" up contacts the inner top... that scares me a little
Other than that- looks GREAT!

My install didn't go as easy as Coog's seemed to either...Mine didnt seem to line up perfectly either. After getting frustrated for the 20th time, I covered the bar with a thick blanket and wacked it a few times on each side with a 6 foot 4X4 that was layin next to the car. THAT made it perfect, with no damage!

Came home, took it apart and realized i had the brackets on the worng sides! That helped line the bar up and eliminated the slight gap, but I STILL had problems with the seat belts. I messed with it for hours trying to get it seated without pinching the seat belt bracket (what was happening was the cylinder that holds the bar on, once the bar was installed flush with the trim, it was pushing on the bracket that holds the actual seat belt in line and pinching it, causing too much friction/pressure.) I ended up trimming the bracket with my dremmel (that was a priceless buy with this car!) and movign the washer from under the seatbelt bracket to between the bracket and the cylinder. Now it works, and lines up perfectly against the trim as well! Even "properly" installed now, I still have contact with my top- whic, after all my issues, makes me very, very nervous

It must be you new top causing the contact with the bar. Mine has decent clearance all the way around

They only replaced he outer canvas, the liner is still the same. Its the actual frame work of the top that's causing the contact, so even if the inner liner was replaced, I doubt that would make a difference. Its not enough to impede the movement of the top at all, so hopefully it wont be an issue.

I have the CDC bar and I have lots of room....Sorry you had problems with the seat belt, did you remove them during installation? We did and don't have a problem. Looks good thought

The. Racket that secures my bar looks like two cylinders welded together, 1 has a hole in it that you drop the bolt that holds the seatbelt through, the other attached to a pipe coming from the bar itself. When the bar is mounted onto the cylinder, and pushes down into place, it puts pressure on the plastic guide piece that aligns the seatbelt, thus "pinching" the belt and keeping it from retracting. I probably coulda fixed it with a few extra washers from the hardware store, but nothing was open at 9pm on a Sunday, and I was getting impatient... its all good now, jylust a little concernes about the clearance issue with all the top problems I've had. SSAINT mentioned it before, but there may be something to the repair work that's been done to my top-in order to eliminate the wind noise, they REALLY tightened up the top fabric, which may actually be pulling the metal frame inward beyond spec and cutting the clearance down on the sides. Wouldn't expect that to have happened, but its entirely possible.

i finally installed my revo bar( after removing the cdc bar)
i opted to putty around the seam with black silicon, for a more flush look, but black putty, for those of you who have a larger seam, will work just as well. i am not reccomending to do it, but if you do be as careful and neat as possible (drago gave me the emblem idea) |
