Ashen Gray (RPO: GLJ) – replacement for Cyber Gray – available for ordering on Oct 20
–Production of this new color starts in early November
–Expect initial limited quantities for first few weeks of order processing due to startup

My order is ready to go in on Oct 20th

I believe you Dirty D, but where did 'father say this? That will put some worries to rest.

Even though it just came from the marketing department at GM this morning that color chart set off my spidey sense. I tend to believe only about half of what I see and very little of what I read. It has to jive with what I already know to go into the "suspected facts" file.

I'm with you, Shurenuff.

That color guide has old names and therefore old info. I bet things have changed a couple of times since then. I would call this an information hiccup.

DirtyD, where did you find the Fbodfather;s statement about the Ashen Gray and the color code?

Gotta have it both ways!
I know my Iphone 4 takes crappy pics but these are the actual color chips on the car...
Yall need to go down to your dealer and grab one of these charts...
That way you can see the color side by side...
The only caution I can give is this. If you find the color you want from the chart... MAKE SURE you see it on a CAR before you order a camaro...
I have spent hours and hours walking back between parked new camaros trying to decide! They ALL are just that NICE!
The brightest color by far though is VR. And I am staying with VR.
The IOM while very nice in the bright sunlight when the metallic is shining is stunning....BUT..... in the dark shade...the orange turns almost from an orange to a darker brown..... it don't look orange anymore!
Kinda cool but I want my car to be the same color all the way around it on the brightest of days, and the darkest of days.....
All the way around... I told yall I am the pickiest son of a bisquick yall ever wanna meet!
You and me both!

I have been saying this since day one. BOTH reds are very very nice.
BUT...one is metallic and one is not.
The metallic is the reason it won't look the same on all panels at all times...
This is typical of metallic in general.
The victory red is not metallic and will not have the odd ball panel reflections..
Case in point. There was a new 2012 IOM on the lot today.
Keep in mind I stared at these cars at very close distance for a very long while today. Im sure the dealer inside the show room thought that they had either a retard outside or a camaro NUTT that I really am.
Anyway I did not even realize the IOM was a 2012 model but I noticed it looked cleaner than the 2011 IOM on the lot so I decided to check and sure enough it is a 2012 IOM.
Now I am really giving this car a stare down as my whole battle for me since I knew my dreams of owning a factory ABM were slim.
As I was looking at the passenger side, it LOOKED like the door might be a tad darker.. Keep in mind this was around 11 o clock pm, no over cast...
and this time of year is awesome for checking car colors as there is less glare from the sun in general and no cloud cover.
I walked around the 2012 several times. The door was not darker. It was simply the angle at which I was looking due to the metallic in the paint nothing more. You walk up to the front of the car and you can see all the different colors in the metallic. Looks like gold, and maybe red to me..
But anyway, when you walk towards the back of the car where the sun is not hitting the tail panel, you get a totally different effect. It looks almost like a bronze or burnished brown color....
Almost to the point of not being orange in color... But it is orange...
Its just the metallic does funny things under sun light and less lighting and shade...
BEAUTIFUL COLOR though...
But.. I figured what I am actually wanting is a classic non metallic vehicle...
Much like days of old...The Victory red does that for me...
I want a bright color. Period. And I want you to see the same color and contrast and shade when you walk around it... no color change. I want you to be able to see BRUCE for 30 miles ahead of you when I pass you up on the freeway...
